Watching a live feed of that crane now. Flopping around lke a windsock in a light breeze, except it's actually about 30 metres of steel lattice.

The fire on the city island is in a restaurant, and the alarm level got upgraded from 2 to 3.

They've observed some flooding in the Brooklyn-Battery tunnel.

Hmm... looking at the power outage map... if the rate of outage % growth for my area is any indication...  I may actually go down soon...

Ahh! Flooding is occuring in some of the NYC tunnels, specifically the east river ones. The PATH trains are going under. The Battery is under 13.5 feet of water. Grand street is being evacuated.  By boat. The Weather channel is not a hundred percent sure what's happening. There is water on Laguardia. Transformers are lighting on fire. The New York Post building is opened, water flooding in. Another building partially went. This time closer.

And yet, I am still bored here. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NATURE, DO SOMETHING UP HERE DAMNIT.

Well, after reports of flooding beginning to occur around RIT (it is, after all, built on a swamp), I got back to the Perkins apartment. Doesn't look like there's any flooding here; though the puddles are rather large. From what I overheard from those in the Game Dev Lab, Colony Apartments weren't so lucky. Supposedly some of the first floor units have an inch and a half of water. Bus services are shut down from what I heard, and judging by Sandy's path (right over Rochester on Wednesday), it's going to be approximately the same for the next 48 hours. >_<


Edit: Meanwhile, 4.1 million are now out of power.

Oh my god, there are thousands upon thousands of people without power in the east village. The con ed map is huge. over 4 million Have lost tpower total. The power outages are creeping up guys. There was a 90,000 people outage 25 blocks from my house, a small one 5 blocks away! If I go out, You'll know why.
