Pretty sure they just announced public schools will be closed Tuesday in the current press conference. Wouldn't be surprised if all others follow that lead.

It's pretty ominous man, it's not even raining, just all manner of flora going apeshit in the winds. I'm almost tempted to go up to the reservoir and see what
crazy crap is going on.

I started at the south side of the reservoir because that's where I live, wind was still pretty mild and all the
ducks had coalesced into a protective duck circle.


The winds picked up as I moved farther north along the perimeter, the waves started to pick up a little.


On a clear day you'd usually be able to see the Hancock Building and Prudential Center from
this angle. The only obvious solution is that they have both been annihilated.
What a terrible storm this is.


On the north side the wind got wicked bad, it's had to convey "wicked bad wind"
in a photo, so this is the best I had. Most of the wind was blowing from the reservoir so I wasn't
worried about being blown in.


It's hard to see in this photo, but all of the white spots are seagulls. All the nearby gulls got
blown into that baseball field. They seemed to be having a pretty bad time maneuvering in the wind.

I wonder why people want to live in America, sometimes.

Um. America is really, really big. If you don't want to live in a hurricane zone, you don't really have to. Most folks on the active coasts just tend to think the benefits outweigh the occasional lorry being bounced around like a basketball.

Some of us are also far enough inland and high enough up that even when the coast gets hilari-wrecked by massive winds, rain, and flood, we just kinda' go, "Eh."
