Your to close to a 'roid. That ships is part of that 'roid now, and will move the 'roid with it.
You sure? There looks to be a body marker in the centre of that ship.

Dude, that thing is practically touching the thing. There is probably something behind it.

The blocks are also not in the same orientation. Looks to be separate to me.

It's separate. :) I built it a bit further out and moved it to where it is now via "engine testing". :)

Aw darn, I was wrong :( But in other news, ship looks pretty good. What are you looking at in terms of weapons?

I honestly don't know; it would probably depend on what was available resource -  wise. Since the ship is made of aluminium, and thus is not that 'expensive', I imagine 2 Heavy Assault cannons per turret (one on the top and one on the bottom), 3 Standard Assault Cannons on the top and bottom of the ship each, and maybe an anti - corvette cannon on the front. Thing is, this requires quite a lot of crew for a poundstretcher ship.

I'm hoping to have the armour at least 1 heavy aluminium plus 1 light aluminium; in most places there will be 2 heavy aluminium pieces around the chassis. The ship will be quite slow, but without making it more expensive I'll have to deal with it. :p

Im thinking about a anti firgate cannon on the front of my ship, and a metric fucton of assault of the sides, to give a new meaning to  the order "BROADSIDE!" Also I want some small cannons on the top and bottom, and maybe a decently sized gun in the back

BWT: On most 'roids more than 10K tons you can find titanium on the surface and in huge amounts, its better to use that really.

I dunno, that's only, what? 4 crew? One for piloting, one for side turrets, one for top, one for bottom.
Doesn't seem to extravagant. And the guns could possibly be all one crew member, if they're placed so that all could shoot at the same target without hitting your ship.

A good ship will probably want three crew, one pilot and two gunners, especially if it'll be involved in fleet fights with more than one enemy.  The real trickery will come with larger fleets where the pilot cannot evade all incoming fire because they just can't see all the enemy ships at once.

Larger ships will probably want more like five, a pilot, two gunners, and two crew for boarding attempts and mid-fight repairs.  At that point more crew will go towards more gunners in case you're attacked by multiple ships, or towards more "loose crew" for boarding, repair, or swapping gun positions.  People who run around the ship doing things, basically.

Mainly just look around in different directions and hit 'r' until it's facing the right way.  Rotating multi-tile items is a little tricky.

Thanks!

My ship is coming along nicely. I'm expanding sideways now for engines and guns. Going to make another powerful nuke thing soon. Do generators right next to each other transfer power?

All energy blocks transfer power, becoming a grid.  Engines, weapons, cable, generators, and consoles all share power freely.  You could mount anti-personnels as your cables.

Titanium on 'roids over 10K? Cheers, will look into it. :D

Post pics werty892 of the ship, I'm curious! :)

Has anyone considered mounting any AP cannons internally, to fight off boarders? :)

You could say make a trap room where 1 wall is completely covered in them and shoot them when people come in. But it wouldn't be very efficient.
