the newest one.

it has the fan-made patch, version 10, and works right out of the box unless you need to use the installation files in it.

http://corneroids.perinteinen.org/downloads/corneroids_installer.zip - installer (executable)
http://corneroids.perinteinen.org/downloads/corneroids_binaries.zip - Binaries (moddable files)
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73245406/DarthNoxItemset.rar - mod

Put the Installer and the Binaries into the same folder.  Put the mod into the same folder and over-write as needed.  When you start a new game it'll let you pick which mod pack.

Also I'm veering off my original goal, and accidentally making a warship.

EDIT: I mounted the largest gun availaible, the Anti-Frigate Cannon.  It fires a blast the same size as the anti-personnel cannon.  I'm incredibly underwhelmed.

EDIT2: In some live fire tests against titanium dummies, it appears that the Anti-Personnel cannon is actually the best.  Not just "the most size efficient" but the actual best.  It gets 20 damage, the next step up of the Light Assault Cannon gets 10, and the biggest at the Anti-Frigate Cannon gets 15.  Each larger size of cannon also gets slower reload.  And the anti-frigate gun has a 2x2x3 footprint, it's massive, but its bullet is small so it only hits 1 of the 4 blocks in front of it.

I think that the bigger weapons are missing some 0's and missing some splash damage.

If you get the tweaked mod files (v10 is latest at this time) the larger cannons are adjusted to fire faster, do more damage.  That and all the armors were brought down so that there is some actual difference in the top tier armors (overflows otherwise).

Actually, you just need the executable... I never dl'd the installer and my game works fine.

I think you need both the .exe and the installer to use the mods though.

Nope, just put all the files into the folder and it will still give you the options of different itemsets.

Azurelao's post on page 7 (last one) has a download of v10, you just drop all the files into where ever you are running the game from.  (I would back up though, to be safe)

That's... actually quite the impressive ship!  A few nitpicks though... the cameras on top are too exposed, you only need 1 for full field of view and the exposed cable is just asking to get shot.  Same with the frontal mounted gun, it's powerful but it's a target.  You generally want anything delicate to be as nested as possible.  When I get back I'll get some screenshots to show how my ship is hardened against potential attack.

Thing about guns and cameras is that they're pretty much useless if you cover them up, because they need a wide field of view to be useful.
There's not really a way to keep a decent field of view while keeping it protected.

The best defense is redundancy.

Yes, I'm saying your problem is that you vastly need to modify the number of guns and cameras strapped to your ship.
