*stares at math*

You know what, screw it. Will any of you guys be willing to design and build ships for Redium and Ponium when MP gets here?

After we get a few more ship designs I'm going to start recording them in a compendium for use when MP rolls around (and shits 'n' giggles, of course.)

mostly physics actually. the most complex math I used ( not shown) was a derivative.

@gamerlord: I don't think it is a good idea to use redium and ponium to build ships, since they are very rare. rather, they could be used for partial plating of sensitive parts, such as engines and weapons.

@Shooer so awesome!

You are gonna go make me learn the Newtonian laws for rotation? fine!

And quantum physics so you can make us warpgates! Faster!

Yeah, best thing I love about this is how it actually made what I learned last year in physics actually useful (in a fun way no less) and has made me sketch out possible ways and solutions to thruster placement problems.

All that is left is to build some damn ships :D

and finally the ship is done!

well, it needs much beautification ( which has the added benefit of being extra armor). and it turns with the agility of a paralyzed whale ( I really need to get ion engines for turning).
but that wll wait until I reach the next asteroid because I am broke!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

note: thruster position isn't optimized. or, if it is, I am very lucky.

edit: 0 to 20 m/s in 35 seconds. considering that it has less than half of the maximum thrusters it can host, it is not too bad for a 780 ton ship.

That design truly is reminiscent of an Elite 3 ship. Looks glorious, well done! Does it have any weapons / crate storage space? :)

the nose in front of the ship ( right side) is the gun barrel. curently it houses 16 anti personnel guns, but there is space for more. I just lack resources.
about crates, the command module is massive, and consoles take  only a small part of it. crates are the main reason for all that empty space; could easily fit 50+(small). I just need to decide if I should wall some sections off, or just use the sides as alternative floors. we are in space, so "down" is defined by what you consider to be down.

which, incidentally, may lead to confusion with consoles, since I have 4, each linked to a different camera for redundancy. I had to use colored blocks to get a sense of direction.

Everywhere is down, thus you have infinite cargo space in minecraft terms. :P

This game has gotten way too popular in Bay 12.
It's going to suck if the dev abandons it.

Actually I meant that redium and ponium would be payment for the design andconstruction.

Technically it would be us and /vg/, unless the chan forgets about it before we do.
