Head out into the forest scavenging and hunting, pay special attention to animal tracks and try to bring down any animals I see, deer or other similar animals preferably, stay out into the night and don't sleep. Make sure to let Alith keep up with me
You head off into the night to search for nocturnal animals as you’ve had little luck so far with ones who walk in the day. Despite the difficulty of searching with one who is less acquitted to the forest you find it easy enough to find a two small pigs two hours apart from eachother. Alith doesn’t even need to draw his bow before you were on the first one. The second you let him take care of. For a night foray you were relatively successful but you spent most of the night simply wandering.
[You gain three rations and a hide.] [You stayed up all night! You are asleep during this day phase]
go bother urgro and then see what the goblin wants
The goblin finally moves from his sitting position when you draw near and mutters something in his native language. Obviously you cannot pick out what he is saying. However you feel a tingling sensation in the front of your skull and you manage to pick up a few words which gradually moves into perfect understanding “Hol tuk Strange One nix aast saved me from nbo and for that I am grateful. I have bvo to go htzu thrin I offer services to you.” After asking him to repeat himself he sighs and repeats it in his squeaky voice “Greetings Strange One who saved me from starvation. I am grateful for that. I have nowhere to go and need a new clan. I offer my services to you chieftain.”
You are confused as to what he means but he explains his story to you and you, somewhat reluctantly, agree to let him stay in camp.
[You have gained a Goblin ally! He will answer to your instructions alone.]
Go with Leon to scavenge, hoping to find more arrow-making materials.
Your hunting trip begins early at night and you are unsure whether night is the best time for this activity. However at his prodding you finally agree to go with him. The silent forest is unnerving while you spend hours of fruitless searching being annoyed. You do manage to find some suitable sticks and feathers for arrows as you are down to your last. The first pig-like creature, similar to the one you found yesterday, you allow Leon to handle as you don’t want to waste your last arrow. However the second you decide to practice with your new bow as you do have enough to make a few arrows. Taking an almost careless aim at the creature you release the arrow. It hits below your intended target striking the pig-like creature in the throat. As it squeels and bleeds you walk towards it hoping that your arrow isn’t harmed. Luckily it isn’t. You manage to get a few morsels of food from the creature before you continue your hunt. Unfortunately you find nothing else.
[You find 4 sticks, 3 large feathers, 3 rations, and 1 hide.] [You stayed up all night. You are asleep during the day phase.]
cast translator spell on Lena, go with her to the goblin.
You cast the translation spell and watch the conversation unfold. Lena seems uncomfortable near the end of it though you cannot say why. You ask her to repeat the Goblin’s words. Though you feel a little annoyed by this turn of events you think it could have a large advantage.
Lena and Urgo have manage to recruit the goblin to your camp. While it will only answer to Lena he could be a huge bonus to your group. After all an extra hand frees up time for other actiivites. Backround: Gobush was once a well known butcher in Nishi Village but his dislike of the destructive nature of his old warchief caused his downfall. He is now just a nameless wanderer who seeks to be safe in numbers again.
Located somewhere within an un-named forest whose trees seem to crave magic. It contains all of our heroes, Gobush and it also contains a fire which feeds on the ward protecting this place for fuel as of now. Currently it is protected by a basic ward against wild-life but not against sentients. It is unknown how long it will last however the fire seems to be draining the ward slightly.
To the southern end of the Basecamp there resides a Small Primitive Hut.
You still have yet to name the forest nor has anyone discovered a name for it. It’s trees seem to feed on magic but are not sentient. There is plenty of wood and with each day your ability to find materials in it grows as does your familiarity with the area. However you suspect that there is a goblin tribe nearby. This can’t be all of the world can it?
Standing at about six feet tall and four feet wide this construction can only contain 1 small humanoid comfortably, 2 small humanoids uncomfortably, and 1 medium humanoid uncomfortably. It will protect against small creatures though not against sentients or larger animals. While it’s not much to look at it certainly beats sleeping outside.
According to Gobush there is a Goblin Village led by Nishi the Butcher far to the North, past the Forest. The despotic leader has a taste for destruction and so he has taken to destroying anything he can raid. While there are several goblins who dislike this modus operandi they have no choice but to comply. A few lucky ones escape. The others are part of the royal feasts.
Rations: While preventing starvation the food you’ve found here has slight medicinal properties healing 3 health per meal.
Primitive Shivs = Sharpenable materials such as wood can be made into these primitive weapons. While not as strong as a metal dagger or even a metal bar they are capable of being made into other things.
Primitive Axe= Sharp rocks attached to a stick can form this primitive tool. It’s sharp enough to do damage to both flesh and wood. However it is frail and probably won’t last long. Luckily it’s easily made and takes little skill.
Primitive Arrows= Primitive Shivs that have been fletched with large arrows. While they lack an arrow-head they are useful enough at the moment when used in conjunction with a bow. However without one they are little more than decorated Primitive Shivs.
Unweildy Primitive Hammer= Basically just a big rock on a log this is useful only for the most basic of hammerings. In fact it’s so unwieldy and hard to use that it’s impossible to use in combat for long.
Small Primitive Hut= A hodge-podge collection of stone and wood it’s really not that bad for a first go. It will protect against smaller wild-life without the need for a ward. Sentients or larger wild-life however will make short work of it.
Primitive Wooden Shield= Made up of wood and a basic strap this shield will protect against basic damage but will be worthless against metal or fire. It’s stability is also low so it’s unlikely to last long against repetitive attacks.
Rock-head Spear= A stick with a sharpened rock on it. Not the best weapon on Centria but it will damage fleshy targets. However it is very brittle and will break easily.
Primitive Spear= Otherwise known as a sharpened stick. It will hurt but is unlikely to cause deadly blows. It’s a basic weapon that can be adapted through several methods. It’s versatility is matched only by its frailty as this weapon is very likely to break.
Primitive Bow= A basic bow made of a stick and some string plants. It will launch an arrow a sufficient distance however it needs to be sturdier before it can launch them beyond a small range. The arrows launched from this will kill if shots are lucky but mostly they will wound.
TIP: Orders for various minions should be put into bold as follows:
Gobush: Actions. Otherwise they will simply wait around camp.
NOTE: I fixed Urgo's health. My bad.
