How do you equip arena dwarves with ranged ammunition?

I want to test some things about crossbows/bows/arrows/bolts but when I hand arena dwarves ammo for their crossbows, they just hold it in their other hand. "Quiver" turns up no results when I search for items to add to the dwarves. How are people doing arena tests wtih ranged weapons?

In Arena mode, ammo doesn't need to be stored in your quiver - having it in your other hand works just fine.

To be fair, that information is a little buried in the wiki; and it's not like I don't know how to use a search function (I spent over half an hour with google search trying to answer this for myself). This is dwarf fortress; I've read literally HUNDREDS of pages of forums and wiki entries over the past weeks, before coming to the forums to ask a handful of questions myself.
