Name: Anson Dallison
Profession: Naturalist
Personality: Dedicated to science, Obsessed with occult as a hobby

Description: Ever since he was a child, Anson has been obsessed with magic, especially dragons. Even as he grew older and learned that such things did not exist, he enjoyed novels and such depicting the fantastic creatures. When he read about the opportunities offered by the new worlds opening up, he jumped at the news, wondering if the dreams of his youth could be realised there. A volcano sounded like prime dragon-hunting territory, so An son came here. Now, he's trying to get some evidence of the mighty beasts...
I'm not saying you can't have the spot (especialy with a new shipment of specialists ariving shortly) I'm just bumbed about it.

Oh, okay. Here's hoping there's a second naturalist among them!

Week 3

Another expedition was send up the mountain. Consisting of four valiant explorers, and 5 pack carriers they explored a large part of the mountain past the chasm. Their results are varied. The naturalist managed to find a small group of berry bushes that somehow managed to survive on the islands barren surface. These might provide a humble, but usefull food source for the plebs. ((Provided they aren't poisonous, of course))

The engineer managed to make some preliminary notes on how the chasm might be bridged, but nothing special yet. He also estimated that a treck all the way to the top might take at least a week, maybe longer.

Our geologist managed to find yet another surface mineral deposit. Meanwhile, the Ploghistonist spent his time taking samples from the chasm. It appears that the Phlogiston content might be high enough for financially viable extraction, but for more information the samples will need to be analysed in a proper laboratory.

Mining was very productive today, and despite their shoddy implements the miners managed to extract 5 units of copper ore. The pile stone next to the mine continues to grow, but 4 units of stone were recovered.

Construction progressed slow but steadily, and 3 more houses were finished. With everyone being housed, we have at least something we can tell to the motherland. In more negative terms, it appears that our current food supplies will not be sufficient to feed everyone till the end of the next week, though a supply/trading vessel should arrive soon.

oh shoot did i forgot my disability? well...hmm... i guess he is quite a silent type trying to keep to himself.

anyways: begin smelting ore so we might be able to make tools: also make the naturalist further study the berry's: make the ploghistonist try to make lab tools. geologist continue study for surface ore.while we continue plans for a workshop that can build items: such as lab equipment and crate. have some plebs help and the erst of the plebs mine and generically help.

Anson will try to identify the bush. If he can't, or doesn't know if the bush's berries are safe to eat, he'll ask the overseer for a list of his five least favorite plebeians and see which one of them wants to help out.

Thanks for agreeing to participate in this study. All you need to do is eat these berries, describe the taste, and come back in the morning. No, no catch...

Oh, do we need a disability?  If so, my overseer is non-confrontational.

What fishing?
There's nobody fishing, and the fishing dock doesn't function on it's own.

Have some of the plebs start fishing, to bolster our supplies.
Have the geologist and the phlogistonist check out the chasm, together with two soldiers for protection. (Hoping for some synergy here.)
Give the berries to our megalomaniac.

Now who has gotten who? Can we get a list?

Aw man... are we expecting new expert migrants during the next few trading cycles? 'Cause I saw there are some voltaists out there, and I'd fancy me one ;)

And I guess lab tools would have to be imported as well, right? At least the more complicated ones. We need a zeppelin dock; wasn't "refueling station" a stated goal?

Unless you want to build a high level industry first, importing lab tools is a good thing.

Week 4

Work at the mine continues, and serious progress is made, another copper vein is found, and also a valuable sheet of basalt, which is a good construction stone. Unfortunately, we also hit a crack in the rocks, which seems to spread an illodored gas, which is certainly not comfortable for the miners. In fact, after barely half day's work they appear to be delusional and hallucinating, though I'm sure they're just faking it to get away from the stench. Nevertheless, the engineer has assured me that we can't dig deeper without endangering the stability of the mine, and as such that we will need to install additionall supports.

Ore production was good, producing four units of ore, as was stone, which netted us a total of 5 units.

Our food supplies had been running short, resulting in the fact that even I was forced to eat fish, baked on a open campfire.  Some of the plebs were even stupid enough to eat some unidentified berries. These have now been identified as strong laxatives, and exceptionally good at keeping someone in bed for an entire week.

Luckily for us, our supply ship managed to arrive on time. An old steamer, the Rosemary, loaded with food and drinks for all, but also carrying a large amount of scum, as well as a researcher from the royal academy. Several specialists have also arrived. (Go ahead and claim one, I'll let you choose.(Choosing only if you claim. I'm not giving away free stuff))
The researcher, though he looked like a gentleman at first, has declared that he will organise an expedition next week to catch a sea serpent he heard one of the fishers(probably drunk) talk about.

Nevertheless, he's a man of stature and we need to aid him, as well as provide him with logements.
