I just had a look and realized I played Under the Garden ages ago and enjoyed it. Just bought the $7 version. Now to try to find some time to actually play this when there's a million other important things I'm supposed to be doing!

EDIT: Totally lost... How do I use items? There's crates everywhere and I have plenty of tools for smashing them, but I can't figure out how to use the tools. How do you use an item?

...In fact, how do you do anything really, other than move? I can't even figure out how to save or quit or anything. : (

EDIT2: Okay, I guess I can't really play this until someone helps me out with the controls. I managed to get some dry grass burning but I can't for the life of me figure out how to light driftwood or broken crates with the flame. I've tried everything I can think of and it's getting frustrating. I found and killed a chicken too, but no idea how to prepare/cook it so I can eat it. I'm throwing in the towel for now. Presumably this game will be fun once I can figure out how in the hell to play it. I don't expect a full tutorial in an alpha game, but at least a list of basic commands would be massively helpful. It's not exactly an intuitive interface.

That's sort of my experience so far - had a tiny little bit of time to play, and couldn't really figure much out. Tons of potential though

I think to set stuff on fire you basically just leave it sitting on top of the flame, takes a while. To cook stuff you hold it over the flame.

You pluck the chicken in the crafting menu.

Anything else will have to wait until I get my new PC and can actually play

I left some dry driftwood and crate scrap on the fire for a good long time but it didn't ignite. How long is it supposed to take? I lit the dry grass, left wood on top of it, stood there for a few minutes, then went off exploring, killed that chicken and brought it back, and the wood still wasn't burning. It was definitely touching. After a few more minutes the grass stopped burning and I was left with no fire at all.

I'm confused!

You might need to be in the active map area. And did you make sure the fire was out of the rain and whatnot?

Finding and/or making dry grass was a challenge for me as well. I think I eventually just found it, but there's got to be another way, right?

Apparently you can drag out grass and dry it, i guess if you just put it on top of the roof of your house given you have one, would eventually dry. Atleast thats what i would think.

Also i am downloading now Cant wait to try it!!!

Yes, it was inside a cave, out of the rain. I waited on the map for a good long while. I'll try again when I get home today. Maybe I need to reset the map and try everything again from scratch.
