My inflation went up to 1% via an event, and now it's draining away again. My infamy went up to 3 once, but it's almost down to 0. Brandenburg is a very reasonable nation.

England may have a powerful starting economy, but it is nowhere near enough to comfortably maintain 44,000 horsemen.
But could their fewer numbers at max quality wipe the floor with your max quantity army? I believe so, barring a ridiculously good general on your side.

I don't get your point. We were both -2 Quality/Quantity.

I got flipped around. (Thought it was John saying his military was better than England's.) Though I do recall Serbia saying something about high quantity rating.

I blame the lateness of the hour. Carry on.

I understand. Still, it'd be a funny sight for Serbia to try and take me down alone. Serbia is at least Quantity +4 from their army size's proportionality to their income.

You know, everyone's laughing at John now. But will you laugh when he eventually gains a massive amount of territory and then promptly drowns your stacks of elite troops in his stacks of redshirts? :P

I wasn't implying that you can't field a large army.  And not even specifically at you.

On a personal analysis, I'd say Serbia's primary weakness in the near future will be the coupling  of the eastern european techgroup with diverting investments into minting.

Guys, I hope there is space for one more player. Is it possble to join now? I got a bit of game analysis from Az and I would like to play as Poland.

Now, I know i am hopelessly outmatched, but I don't mind playing against the odds, and I hope there is space for me in someone's alliance.

Just so you know, if you pick Poland, chances are you will attract the ire of Barb, Twiggie, and possibly even John since there's not much room for expansion around here already.

poland is right in the middle of several wars atm, afaik. also, what tarran said.

having said that the three best countries in europe to take atm are (imo) TO, Poland and Castille. None of those are excellent choices, because they're all situated right next to existing players, and I would assume you want some time to correct the AI's bad play.

personally at this point i would take an arabian/asian nation, but the choice is yours. I'll put the save up in a second so that you (and everyone else) can have a bit of analysis.

EDIT: save available HERE

Your best bet would be the Mamluks.

Or, if we kick the inactive players, you could also take Portugal.

Yeah mamluks, timmies, deccan and delhi all seem to be in pretty powerful positions right now. poland is probably the most powerful AI nation in europe. It doesnt seem like theres a dominant force in china atm, so you could try that - but that'll mean you won't have much player contact for the next 4/5 sessions.

portugal is free, yeah. (EDIT: player list updated)

(EDIT2: i was wrong about poland being in wars. my bad.)

The Mamluks & Timurids are not only the largest AI nations, but rather, the largest nations in the whole game; thought he Timurids will collapse soon with the death of Timur, except someone takes over them.

Apparently Timur has been dead for a while.
