That diagram shows a much smaller Brandenburg than intended. Not to mention that several of my vassals would have to be annexed by Somebody and Tarran. (Bohemia and Koln, respectively.) I will probably be expanding into Poland and the Teutonic Order when I can. I've never done an Eastern European nation, but I hope that being big and wealthy will offset my lame tech grouping.

Whether size is a plus or a malus when it comes to technological progress depends on the region you are conquering, really. The larger you are the more investments you need for each tech level; conquering rich areas will offset that, but poor areas can actually make it harder to advance.

That's what I'm worried about. North Germany is great for that, but the Baltic States area isn't as wealthy. I'll probably blob south a little to consolidate my power, though I probably won't even reach Austria. I'm a 9 province country right now. As I found out in the Great War, I can field roughly one army that can stand up to a good sized nation. I'm big enough to stomp on German minors three at a time, but Bavaria or probably Serbia could still murder me.

Well, its only a rough map so adjustments could easily be made.

but Bavaria or probably Serbia could still murder me.

Well, I have the ability to raise 40,000 without incurring penalties according to my landforce limits, but then again, I have full Quantity. So maybe you could take me. :P

Poland is where Europe starts getting poorer, metal producing provinces aside. Austria's primary advantage is its gold producing provinces and the resulting large base tax, which also translates to a large forcelimit.

I've got 25,000, and middling quality. Hopefully that will rise dramatically as Emperor.

Last I recall my limit was 27K, and only 18K of that is currently in use. And my sliders are near/at the center. So I'm certain you could murder me, not the other way around.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Oh, it will. Your manforce limit is augmented by all the members in the HRE, making your landforce limit over 100 or something. Well, if the HRE is strong that is. :P

Edit: Also I really hope I get a good Military Czar soon because Recruiting act and Militia act.

The bonus is nowhere near that large. Austria just has a naturally high forcelimit, which often makes the HRE title appear stronger than it is.

Burgundy, Austria and I are probably more or less matched for forcelimit. 60~70 I'd say.

It can be a pretty good bonus. If nothing else, it'll let me build enough troops to take on the Teutonic Order, since they're guaranteeing every goddamn nation around me.  :P

Well, if you want to form Prussia you're going to need to murder them anyway for the Prussian Region :P

Damn, if only I were protestant/reformed, I could form it as soon as I conquer Ostpreussen.

Pseudoedit: I guess it's different in D&T. Still a ways off, but I know what I need to conquer. (The Teutonic Order.)

65,000 manpower here. Inflation is going down, overall tech levels rising. England was red in the tech map for a moment, but now it should go back to yellow. War took too much of an economic investment and the lack of cores meant that tech cost rose without my income matching the increase.

I wonder what will happen in Europe once the religious reforms enter the scenario.
