You can always vassalize the electors to get elected Emperor. The real problem is the likelihood of which the Emperor will get ganked by neighbouring players far before he gets a chance at passing Renovatio Imperii Romanorum. Even if the HRE stands together, which is unlikely if there are other players in it, a joint Spanish-British-French invasion can ruin almost anyone's day.

no im talking about the massive negative voting modifiers that you get in D&T when electors are subject to the emperor

You also did that in the last game, but instead you just straight up dismantled the HRE :P

I also hope to see the HRE disappear during play, mostly because I hate it for all it is, which to me is a barrier keeping cool AI nations from forming :P

You will probably have enough !Fun! between player-controlled Austria, Burgundy and Brandenburg.
Hopefully nobody will smash me before I get on my feet. That would be most unfun for me.

If people are willing to team up, I'm sure we can accomplish that goal by all leaving, then declaring war on every elector and having an orgy of massive proportions before dismantling the HRE.

That sounds like a wonderful idea. Can I join in on this HRE rape fest? :P

lol, bavaria is hella op, as long as you balance bohemia vs austria while you grow.

and i believe one person has to control all the capitals for dismantling.

EDIT: Xeron are you sure you want to play wallachia? i dont think you're going to have much fun there, and there are still a lot of major countries open - France, Castille, Bohemia, Ottomans, Byzantines, Poland, Lithuania, Teutons, to name a few

just want to make sure you're confident to take on other people with what is i think the most backwards country anyone has chosen.

Nah, I think that the only requirements are that: 1. All electors must be vassal'd OR PU'd, and 2. you only need to control the capital of the current Emperor.

just loaded it up, apparently you're right.

and anyways its very counter-intuitive for anyone who has a chance at the crown to dissolve it, since the massive MP bonuses (and chance to form HRE) are just crazy. not to mention the stupid amounts of infamy you'll accrue if you try and conquer your way through all those OPMs.

More OP than England, Brandenburg, Burgundy, and Austria? I'm not experienced in D&T, so I wouldn't know.

England has formed France. The single most dreadful phrase in the game.

I'll be Denmark.
Hmm... that's pretty close to Brandenburg. If you must play Denmark, would you mind not immediately bringing the wrath of the entire Kalmar Union crashing upon my head? I can change countries if necessary, but I'd like to be in the HRE somewhere.
