Maybe you should just try downloading 8.7 and see how that goes. Maybe the server isn't showing up because you had the wrong version of D&T

Maybe your IP address wasn't static and it changed out of the forwarding on it's own?

Did everyone try a open-port tester?

yeah ive tried that and i cant get it to open, no matter what i do.

i have a virgin media superhub, ive tried port forwarding, port triggering, putting my pc in the DMZ, turning off the router firewall, no matter what i do the ports stay closed.

im sure the answer is very simple and one of you will be kind enough to tell me :)

Like I said before, you could just try again with D&T 8.7, mostly because the different versions would have caused a checksum mismatch.

checksum match is irrelevant, as i've said before. i dont care if people can get in, only that they can find the server.

connection timed out is a different message to client/server version mismatch.

ok people were able to connect, so we'll be playing on saturday, at 6:00pm GMT

make sure you turn up at least half an hour early, and check the first post for a chat link (probably using mibbit since im unoriginal)

I will be there, methinks. I forgot that D&T didn't start in 1399, so Brandenburg should be fine. I'll probably hit up the rest of the HRE for some serious politicking, though. It'll be a good time.
