((This game makes me cry because I wish it was real  :'( But bravo.))
((Maybe one day...

Also if you can think of a scenario that you feel is missing, say so. There's probably dozen potential scenarios I missed.))

There needs to be a 'classic' scenario:
7 customisable dwarfs, average resources, free site choice.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

((Yeah, A New Mountain Hall is the classic scenario, just with added hill dwarves.

Lost Caravan is close to Stranded Expedition, perhaps with a 7/3/0 split
Road Construction/Mining Site is close to the Temple/Library scenarios, though I admit I'm a bit wary whether Road Construction fits in well with Settlement mode. Perhaps as Establish an Inn/Wayfarer Station.

Military Reinforcements/Invasions/Reclaims, well, they are probably better suited for a mode you haven't seen yet. ;)

Anyway, I think currently the vote is pretty even for either Outpost, Embassy to the Sylvan, and the Sages.))

After some waffling about the many potential scenarios, you decide to take the Defensive Outpost option. Seems easy enough without being the probably bog-standard New Mountain Hall. Leaving the other options as they are, you proceed.

"The Peak of Thorns is under constant threat from various enemies. Among them is the Dark Hell of Blood, who even were so insolent as to conquer one of our mountain halls. You are to build an outpost, located on the edge of the Riddled Fingers and the Forest of Eyes, to defend against this dire threat to our great civilization. You will receive great starting funds to purchase your initial equipment, and per the terms of our alliance, the Realm of Crowns will send a supply caravan within a year. Everything in that caravan only will be free for you to take should you need it, but any further caravan will require direct payment from your outpost. Due to the danger involved in the surroundings, no hill dwarves will settle with you for the time being, but as you pacify the region, settlements should spring up.

Remember that the Dark Hell of Blood is a devious enemy, and may try paths both aboveground and in the caverns below, should they exist in the region. Choose your companions and equipment carefully."

There are controls to change the enemy you will defend against, as well as the location, but the controls for the location are grayed out. You also notice a blinking letter on your screen. Seems your friend has sent you a message.

"Hey there. If I'm timing this right, you're probably just about to start a settlement game (against my advice, ofc ;p) in a world that you also created against my advice. Remember, if you have any questions that the game help and tutorial don't answer, you can message me for help, too. I'll reply at the times I'm not busy. Right now I'm just curious about the world you genned and the scenario you've chosen. Can you give me a quick summary?"

"A quick summary? Well, you timed it kinda wrong - I've played seven years already! Right now I'm enjoying watching a goblin assault being handled by my rudimentary defensive AI powered by quantum mechanisms and that one nifty steam gimmick I figured out. Really proud of how it handles the lava output and sets off the spike traps just in time to save a master axedwarf in full dwarf bone armor, or a fisherdwarf carrying a turtle that needs its shell taken off. The game's behaving a bit quirky, though, and my computer's being slower than usual... This normal?"

Because why not.
