After some waffling about the many potential scenarios, you decide to take the Defensive Outpost option. Seems easy enough without being the probably bog-standard New Mountain Hall. Leaving the other options as they are, you proceed.
"The Peak of Thorns is under constant threat from various enemies. Among them is the Dark Hell of Blood, who even were so insolent as to conquer one of our mountain halls. You are to build an outpost, located on the edge of the Riddled Fingers and the Forest of Eyes, to defend against this dire threat to our great civilization. You will receive great starting funds to purchase your initial equipment, and per the terms of our alliance, the Realm of Crowns will send a supply caravan within a year. Everything in that caravan only will be free for you to take should you need it, but any further caravan will require direct payment from your outpost. Due to the danger involved in the surroundings, no hill dwarves will settle with you for the time being, but as you pacify the region, settlements should spring up.
Remember that the Dark Hell of Blood is a devious enemy, and may try paths both aboveground and in the caverns below, should they exist in the region. Choose your companions and equipment carefully."
There are controls to change the enemy you will defend against, as well as the location, but the controls for the location are grayed out. You also notice a blinking letter on your screen. Seems your friend has sent you a message.
