But that is personal preference. It just makes the game easier, it does not fix any bugs.

Great mod! It really enhances the DF experience to be able to play it at more than 5 FPS.

That said, I'm having a problem with wool cloth. Namely, there isn't any - caravans don't bring it. I can weave 'hair' into 'hair thread' and I have a few of those in the stockpile, but when I order the weavers to make wool cloth from hair/yarn, they complain that there isn't any to be had. Is there a fix to this?

This wouldn't be such a problem, but moody dwarves demand their god-damn wool cloth. I've lost several dwarves this way. It's like I'm playing 40d and I can't get shells.

I don't know why putnam keeps saying stuff about adding reactions to workshops, he said the same thing to me about me wanting leather gloves.  It's not trying to add a custom reaction.  We're just trying to restore original game behaviour, so it's not about adding anything new to a workshop.

I usually play vanilla, but I am definitely enjoying this mod.

I'm curious though: Why remove kaolinite, but keep orthoclase?

I ended up replacing orthoclase with kaolinite in my raws, but with ortho's environment info so I could regenerate my kick-ass embark while replacing the ubiquitous orange stuff with something useful.

Hu-oh,

I downloaded this mod for FPS issues but noticed it had no dfhack implemented yet. So I added it manually (SDL.ll replaced, etc) but when I launch the game DFhack refuse to start... is it normal or am I doing something wrong here ?

I thought kaolinite was the only stone you could use to make porceline(sp?)? If so, we should probably keep that one.

Just made an unofficial Accelerated + Modest + Ironhand version for myself, and I thought I'd share:

No porcelain or yarn changes were added, it's just a merging of the Accelerated Modest test and the stock Accelerated Ironhand (Windows) release on the front page.
Key repeats and pillar tiles were fixed, however.


EDIT:  Oh and a list of unintentional/intentional discrepancies between the two:

-Aquifer left in inorganic_stone_soil  SILICEOUS_OOZE in test version

-Aquifer in Accelerated Ironhand (Non-Modest) conglomerate not present in Accelerated Modest Raws (intentional?)

-No item symbol for lignite in inorganic_stone_mineral in test version

-Red beryl in AccModest Raws (wasn't in original Accelerated Ironhand)

-Material muscles, skin, and bone templates have 'ashes' gaseous state names in AccModest Raws, now.

-Material muscle gaseous state color changed to gray in test version

-Grass plant named 'MGRASS' (intentional?)

I have a bitchin' issue with wool. I read the comments page 6 and renamed the hair to wool in the raws. Now I have plenty of wool thread stored in bins. Fine ! But still those motherfucking weavers won't weave. Because it was stored in bins, I assumed. So I somehow took all the wool out of them via mass dumping. Then I unforbid the said pile of wool. Dwarfs don't give a shit about storing it and weavers won't weave it either. I am so pissed I want to let my (unique) moody blacksmith die.

You dont understand how that modding part works and what the discussion was about. you need to add the yarn token in the raws, not rename/dump/bin items.

seconded! i really enjoy this mod, but i've noticed recently that a few parts haven't been updated it seems (yarn, broken arrow mod, etc.) and i'd very much appreciate some of the fixes/tweaks posted in the thread to be incorporated if possible.
