Oh, you sweet summer children.  I have 3500 unread emails in the gmail account that I opened to get away from the (at the time) 9000 in my hotmail account.  Just checked back and there are over 17000 at present.  So yeah, 20000.  I should open a store.

I have an email address that I made in 2004 for the express purpose of signing up for political newsletters.  I later used it for things like dating websites and Amazon.  I haven't really "checked" it in a few years now, and back when I did I would grind out the hundreds of letters in there.  I've started using it as a dumping ground for a "registration" email address, since it can't really be any more useless to me.  Last time I was there, it had somewhere around 2200 unread notices.

Then there's my old college-provided address, also used for Amazon, along with Ticketmaster and job search sites.  Oh yeah, it was totally fucked.  Haven't checked that one in about six months, and now that I have a job, the only thing I use it for is stuff that requires a Windows Live registration, since it is technically a Windows Live address.

My two current emails, one with my name on it and one without, average a few pieces of spam a week.  Well, the one with my name on it does, and almost all of the "spam" is non-bill notices from the places I pay bills to.

Back when I used hotmail? Probably over 1000. Long since switched to gmail, and it's actually very rare that I have an unread email.
