Hotline Miami is one of about a dozen games launching on the 23rd of this month. I am here now to tell you that this $9 game is probably the best purchase you could make(assuming you already bought XCOM). This retro game does it all right! I played 4 hours of a press build last night and it is simply amazing. Imagine if GTA(the original) was remade using all of the gaming lessons the industry learned since 1995!
It's violent, fun and innovative. I experienced the occasional glitch-out but am unsure if that is something that will be fixed or if it's inherent to the engine. The game is seriously fan-farking-tastic and is the best example of retro inspired done right. Also, it's marketing is possibly the coolest I have seen.

Preordered it last week through Steam (if I'm remembering correctly). Loved some of the music in the videos, especially Moon - Hydrogen. Just wondering, does it have similar music in the game, or was that just trailer music?

The awesome music continue throughout the game which is good because you need something to numb the pain of dying so much. Very hard game after the first hour.

Yes it has good controller support! My generic Xbox controller works great with it.

Combat is fast and visceral. You will die A LOT.

Looks good, although i don't like how you can take out a lots of mobsters with the old stand behind corner tactic.

actually that tactic only works in the beginning of the game, later there are a lot of glass walls and such that don't protect this tactict.
