Keep in mind that if you do it, it's fair game for me. The enemies have been significantly upgraded in terms of intelligence.

Enemies sapping the tunnel we're digging would be grimly hilarious. "Rocks fall, and everyone dies." -Said by the GM unironically. :P

Barrrgh. I have to call this off, again.

On the plus side, you do have the time to plan, think about what /you/ want, and then I'd bring up some ways you could make it happen.

Asraen wants to know where to find Father Ilyimic (Ilymic? Big Bad Evil Guy.) because of the whole 'cut off the head of a snake' thing, but he is also quite willing to aid on the smaller scale too.

I would vote for either the Black Ice one or the map. The Death option would be dismissed by Asraen as somewhat frivolous and irrelevant to the mission at hand.

Finding the BBEG sounds like a good idea.

So, I looked at GWG"s character. It's...impressively weak. Can't you try harder?

I mean you are going to have trouble contributing in a party with something that suboptimal

Why? Stop assuming that I understand how to optimize, I thought that the opposite had been established.

If you don't understand why performing at a much lower level than the rest of the party is bad, then there's no help for you.

If you question is "why am I bad", then look at any of the other characters, and what you can do in comparison.

What part of "I suck at optimization" does not imply "I'm a bit fuzzy on how the numbers translate into Character X being stronger or weaker than Character Y"?

I'm imagining this guy being a bit of a skirmisher. Is that an inherently weak goal or something?

I'm not. I just suck at optimization because when I play D&D, I usually don't care about that.

So if you think I should change my character because he sucks, I'm laying the burden of proof on you because you understand this stuff.

No, you are acting incredibly self-righteous.

So, rather than bother with this crap, i'll let you see. Simple as that. I'm not going to banter endlessly when a demonstration would suffice.
