Assuming you are using the SDL Windows build, there is a patch up on Mantis.

That doesn't really narrow it down. Where on Mantis is the patch, exactly?

I manually edited the .exe with a hex editor because I'm a masochist/dumbass. It seems to have worked so far, lots of my dwarves have deconstructed things without problems.

Heh, the first image I got from it was that someone had put a pressure plate down in a heavily trafficed area and then linked it to the door, which then became a deathtrap to any dwarf thinking he could time his jumps through it.
