Thranduil goes for the ogre with his lightning arrow, but misses completely. Amroth tries the same thing with much more success, blasting the ogre in the chest. The monster gets knocked on its back, and stays down for a little while. Wraith and Ishar's direwolf charge toward the goblins together, Wraith knocks the warleader down the cave crocodile, the other wolf straight up kills one of the other greenskins.
Celeborn, Ishar adn Sir each take on a troll, while Radaghast deep-freezes the cave crocodile. Thranduil follows that up with a quick shot, shattering the frozen reptile.
The warriors have a bigger challenge. Ishar fails to hit his opponent, but quickly dodges the counterattack - his agility is clearly unmatched in this fight. Sir tries another approach: raw power. Strength without any finesse is useless though: the troll dodges the swing, and smacks Sir in the stomach. The dwarf manages to stay on his feet, thanks to his good quality armor and general toughness, but it's mroe or less a stalemate. Celeborn fares better, as he slashes his troll multiple times. Radaghast notices the oppotunity to attack, and casts an ice ball at the troll, knocking it back. Celeborn sinks his claws deep into its chest, and the troll has no way to retaliate.
Wraith finishes off the warleader at this point, and joins Ishar's direwolf in mutilating the goblins. Only seven of them are still standing, at their futue seems bleak, the numbers won't keep them alive for long. Unfortunetely for the gladiators, the ogre stands up again, and Amroth fails to knock it down again with his lightning. Celeborn finally kills his troll, and turns his attention to the ogre. The monster swings his club at Celeborn, and it hits the elf on the left arm, almost crippling it.
Ishar finally lands a solid blow at his opponent, and gains the upper hand. Unfortunately, it still takes a while to kill a troll, and he is unable to help Celeborn. Sir is roughly in the same situation, he is defininetly winning against the troll, but still quite occupied. Finally, his own team comes to Celeborn's aid: Thranduil fires a lightning arrow at the ogre, which doesn't do much damage, but keeps it stunned long enough for Radaghast to try his healing magic on Celeborn. Unfortunately, it fails, and Celeborn is forced to continue the fight with only one good hand, and severe pain. It doesn't go well, the ogre crushes his skull with a powerful swing of its club, and Celeborn falls down dead.
Amroth fires another lightning, and this time, his aim is spot on, as the blast fries the ogre's face. The monster falls to the ground, and it doesn't seem to get up any more. Ishar and Sir finish their own opponents, so all of the gladiators attack the few remaining 8and mostly injured) goblins together. It's not a long fight, even considering the fact that the fighters are tired, and the mages can barely cast spells anymore: both sides have equal numbers, and every gladiator is vastly stronger than a goblin.
The day is won, and the only casualty is Celeborn.
1500 gold to both participating teams, and 100 to Mesor for the critical freeze. Celeborn is dead, and as always, it takes 150 to revive him. This could have gone very differently, the sudden death of the warleader, the cave croc and one of the trolls turned the battle to our favor, not to mention the (mostly) lucky rolls against the ogre.
Mog shoots the goblin chieftain in the head with his firebolt, melting its face, and killing it off with a single move.
200 gold, and 100 for the ridiculous critical attack success and critical defense fail on the goblin's part.
Ettad stands alone in front of five antmen. All of them wield copper spears, three of them have shields, and their leader even has a copper helmet. Still, they look fragile compared to the human warrior, so they keep their distance, and try to surround Ettad. The gladiator holds up his shield, and tries to run down one of his opponents. The antmen jumps away from him, but Ettad broke free from the almost complete circle, so that's something. He narrowly deflects an antman spear with his shield, and retaliate with his axe, cutting off two limbs with one attack. The antman is not instantly killed, but bleeding out is inevitable.
Ettad easily avoids another attack, and beheads another antman. The three remaining antmen attack him together, and their combined weight pushes him down to the floor. He knocks off one of them with his shield, that one is immediately knocked out. Ettad rolls away from one of the spears, but the left one pins his shield to the ground. He has to let go, and fight the last two with only his axe. He gets back up, and cleaves one of them in the head, and throws his axe in the face of the other - clean work, all of the antmen are dead or unconscious.
120 gold, plus 30 for the critical kill.
