How long will the challenge last? And can we team up (it seems like it says you don't have to, just checking.

You can't team up for this, you are bound by the limits of your own team.

I use the gold to war-train the direwolf.

I will go for an two ogres next round, which is next wednesday, by the way.
The special event stays, and it's strongly suggested for the weaker teams to take it. The next one will be something for spellcasters.

(( I have a suggestion for a challenge after the caster one.

Could we have one that is say something like 6 trolls 4 ogres 1 ogre chieftain? It's something that would test us even if all our groups went in together. ))

Interesting idea. Your team, and mine could realistically take on an ogre each. The others, not so much... I will need to tweak that idea a bit, but yes, I was thinking about doing a high-level special next time.

I've added a few things into the entry post, orcs as a new playable race, a few new enemies, and stats for the previously nonexistent copper armor.

Our teams combined would slaughter a chieftain and 4 ogres without much problem if we got good rolls, the numbers would hurt but the other groups would be able to draw some fire off us if not kill some trolls. It'd be a close run thing but I wanted it that way so we won't know who would win.
And the prize would be huge for winning that as well.

I did not completely forgot to update this, only almost forgot it.

Spoiler: My fight (click to show/hide)
1000 gold. Time to upgrade from that iron sword, this could have been easier.

Spoiler: Tophat's fight (click to show/hide)
You gain the following:
Equipment, armor, metal, copper. +1 ARMOR
Leggings: 75
Armor: 120
Boots: 40
Helmet: 50
Ettad is healed by the priests.

Spoiler: Mesor's fight (click to show/hide)
You gain 900 gold. Thranduil is seriously injured, he needs to sit the next one out, or fight with half HP.

You gain 200 gold, plus another 100 for the criticals. This was weird, quite a chain of critical hits and fails.

I will buy a steel sword for Ishar (300), buy mithril leggings, boots and helmet for Sir, completing the set (total of 600) and raise Sir's END to 10 (100).

Spoiler: My team (click to show/hide)

Change of rules: the last melee upgrade, adamatine, costs 1000. Because 400 for the steel-adamatine transition is a joke, my team would only need to repeat the previous ogre business to equip both my melee guys with godlike weapons.

I will send Amroth into the special (feel free to join him, but I'll do it alone if I must), and the others will take on a few underground critters, to promote them, as nobody seems to be interested:
2 squads of antmen
1 cave crocodile
1 giant cave spider
At least there's a good chance I1ll get my ass handed to me without my mage, and maybe rebalance these creatures if needed.

Btw, you don't have posion arrows, those were just for one battle.
Anyway, your team seems to catch up to my own. Interesting...

(( I know :) I figured the ogre would be tough the poison was just a fall back option although I did not consider the water magics effect on it, I'm not taking on ogres until my mage is back so I have some time :).
