Radaghast immediately freezes Freya, judging her to be the most dangerous opponent. Amroth casts lightning on Silus, who blocks with her shield instictively. Turns out metal isn't much good when struck by lightning, so Silus gets propelled back, and hits the far wall of the arena. Thranduil fails to hit anybody with his first shot. Wraith and Ghost jump forward at Greenhorn, Wraith manages to take a bite for a second, but the dwarf frees himself, and impales Ghost with his spear, killing the direwolf instantly.
Ice gets his head bashed in when he attacks Panopticon, but Specter takes the dwarf to the ground, and begins to rip off his armor. Ishar arrives to avenge Ice, and immediately cleaves off an arm. Sir is locked in a duel with Firehawk, and his former student is somehow gaining the upper hand: Sir's attack gets parried, and the old commander is met with fierce resistance. Sir is only saved by Celeborn's intervention, and together, they force Firehawk back. Urshak goes after the knocked-back Silus, which is a mistake: in his mad charge, he gets a spear to the face, and falls down dead. Adamantine armor may be great, but it isn't worth much when met with an adamantine spear, especially in the hands of somebody as skilled as Silus.
Freya breaks free from the ice, dodges Amroth's lightning and Thranduil's arrow, and kills Wraith with a single swing of her axe. Panopticon somehow manages to kill Specter, but bleeds out when Ishar slices him a couple more times. Celeborn and Sir easily take down Firehawk, but Greenhorn somehow passes by them, and kills Radaghast with a spear through the throat. Amroth fires a blast of air at him in panic, but gets the same treatment either way. Silus also knocks out Thranduil, and now the dwarfs of Shadytorments each get a warrior opponent, and three duels start to form.
Ishar takes on Freya, and tries to match brute strength with finesse. Both of them deal some pretty impressive blows, but their armor protects them for a while. Celeborn gets Silus, the two lightly armored fighters clash once or twice, and the advantage of Silus's longer weapon and bigger shield shows at first, she forces the elf back. Sir decides to educate Greenhorn, for old times' sake, and breaks his weapon with a powerful swing. Greenhorn stumbles back, but Sir isn't about to finish him off yet, as he knocks him in the face with the pommel of his sword.
Greenhorn is knocked out, Ishar starts to get through Freya's armor, the only questionable fight would be Celeborn and Silus, but Thranduil appears from behind, and shoots the dwarf on her back. With only her red cape, and no armor protecting her, Silus forward, right into the claws of Celeborn. Freya falls into a berserker rage, seeing all her comrades defeated, but it doesn't help much: she is hopelessly outnumbered, and the combined efforts of the gladiators bring her down rather quickly.
There you have it, we've won. Mesor, which of the dwarfs do you want? I'm happy with either Freya or Silus for my team, so it's your choice really.
Tyd fires at the vampire, who disappears in a cloud of black mist, only to appear behind Tyd a few moments later. When his narrow blade slides from its sheath, Tyd notices, turns, and barely manages to block with his buckler. Ettad charges to his aid, but the vampire vanishes again, so the axe only hits the mist, too. This time, the vampire appears behind Ettad, who isn't as lucky as Tyd was, and gets stabbed in the back. Fortunately, the armor protects him from most of the impact, a fact that was hidden from the vampire because of the cloak.
So he is very surprised when Ettad turns around, and hits his left hand with an axe, but recovers quickly, and slashes at Ettad's exposed face. It's a nasty cut, some blood even drips into his eyes, but the undead uses this chance to flee rather than to finish him, and turns his attention to Tyd, who fires another bolt, and this time, it hits.
A normal human would be crippled by the pain at this point, but the vampire is barely hurt, and swoops in to disarm Tyd. He wants to finish the kobold for good, but Ettad comes back to sink an axe into his shoulder again. The campire seems genuinely surprised by this, and falls to his knees. Tyd doesn't screw around, and smacks him in the face with his buckler, and Ettad finishes him with a decapitating blow.
1000 gold for Tophat.
Elfcollaborator: Yes you have enough gold for the dragonleather armor. You didn't choose a fight this time by the way.
Tomio: Do you want to try the special alone, if elfcollaborator doesn't join you, or would you rather choose another opponent? Keep in mind, there will be two less dwarfs, as Mesor and I will each take one.
Friday will be my last update as GM, but I'd like to keep participating.
