On Roguelike Radio we'll be covering Dwarf Fortress soon, with a specific emphasis on procedural content and Adventure Mode (the more roguelike-y bits). However we have the problem of not being anywhere near as experienced with the game as most regular players, so I'm looking for someone who can join in. Anyone interested?

What we're looking for:

• Someone with a half-decent headset who can record in a quiet environment
• Knowledge/experience of roguelikes in general helpful, but not necessary
• Sexy voice and charming personality optional
• Good knowledge of the game, its mechanics and its history, especially for Adventure Mode

Our recording (via Skype) is scheduled for this Sunday at 1pm GMT and will last about an hour. If you'd like to take part please reply here or message me directly.

I'd love to! I've only played adventure mode in DF2012, so hopefully I'm qualified enough. I vaguely know how it worked in the past. I am a long-time fortress mode veteran though.

I've played Adventure mode for about two years, I remember before you had to eat and when arrows were pathetic and when you could actually enter a human city and find the king hanging around in an empty bar.

I've only played Rogue, nethack, and Prospector as far as roguelikes go, but I've tried goblin camp, and have been meaning to play Sil.

My mic is okay and things are usually pretty quiet around here.

Wow, that got a better response than I anticipated...  Thanks for all the offers of help!  I've selected a guy who has some roguelike coding knowledge and has been playing for 6 years, but if I need anyone else I'll be sure to let you guys know.  Also I'm very open to suggestions of items to talk about or things you'd like raised

Well the player I had lined up to join in ended up mis-scheduled (due to time zone flaws in Google Calendar it seems), but we proceeded without.  Luckily we already had lined up a guest who knew a fair bit about Dwarf Fortress:

Didn't want to say in advance that it was an interview with ToadyOne in case I got several hundreds replies wanted to join    An experience Adventure Mode player would have been nice though, as we didn't get to discuss it in as much depth as I would have liked.  Maybe in future...

Hooray! Toady combined with Roguelike Radio is even more awesome than the sum of of its parts!

I'm pretty happy with the episode, but an in-depth discussion of Adventurer Mode would've been great, too. Maybe the release of the next version would be a good opportunity for that.
