Maybe the equivalent of a Charm Person spell. Make the character friendly, but without any control over them.

I was thinking illusion making; the illusions are unable to harm them but they can scare or influence.

Charm Person is essentially the Geass Albrecht had but less powerful and with more vulnerability.

Annnywaaaays, looking at it, Dark Souls' stat system should be pretty easy to set up with the system.
Only one I'm not sure of would be faith. But that could probably go into Will or Luck.
'course, I might not go with a Dark Souls inspired character next time. Yay for variety!
