Applying mechanics? I do have a system I've been meaning to test... I call it SIDEWAC. Or something like that. I'd have to dig up my notes.

It's fairly simple. Seven basic stats; Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Endurance, Will, Awareness, and Charisma/Charm. Success/failure is generally determined by opposed checks, with skills giving modifiers to checks. The system might evolve a bit as time goes by, but that's to be expected.
