Barth just introduces himself to the newcomers - "Pleased to meet you, Bartholomew Alteon" - and watches the whole scene for some time before leaving once more to the brook to fetch his shirt. Could as well use a little more cleaning.

Life in these new lands would less problematic if there weren't so many things trying to kill them.
