Richard helped Iris into cover.

He faced Bartolomew.
"Who are you?"

"Pleased to meet you, I think. Bartholomew Alteon..." he stared back at the young man for a moment. Seemed average enough, not one of those funny-haired "heroes" he had seen some times already. "I'm a medic and I have a question...Do you know where we are?"

He motioned towards the forest, making sure the swing of his arm ended at the sock storm.

"I'm used to woods, but not that kind of thing."

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Iris sniffs a nearby plant, before plucking off one of its leaves and popping it in her mouth.

Brecan ran to join the group, nearly colliding with the newcomer.

"Another new face? This just keeps getting weirder and weirder."

"So...Any idea of how you got here? I don't know exactly myself." he said, checking the rest of the group visually, taking note of their possessions...Yes, some of them looked like heroes.

He had always tried to remain away from that kind of situation and dreaded the day he could end up as part of an "adventuring party", but apparently the situation had been forced upon him.

He heard the sounds of someone running and turned his head, nodding in a curt salute.
"Pleased to make your acquantaince, Bartholomew Alteon."

"Brecan, don't you have a spell that'll stop this bug-

I've got a plan, but you'll need to have some wind magic on you."

"I'm Nathan Edwards, glad to make your acquaintance."
Nathan holds his hand out expectantly.

Brecan returned the nod, "Brecan Greene, Mage from the City of New Albion."

He turned to Richard, a contemplative look on his face.

"Wind... Wind... The closest I have is a spell that creates a sort of solid-ish fog, to be honest."

Iris begins fashioning something to hold small objects out of the piece of fabric on her shoulders.

"Unfortunately, no. It only creates fog which impedes movement. I tend to specialize in more esoteric elemental stuff. Para-elements, quasi-elements, para-quasi-elements, that sort of thing."

Bartholomew stares at Nathan's hand then at the man's clothing and face, quickly getting to a conclusion: he's either one of those wizards or sorcerers he had saw making things burst in flames or he's something close to it.

Maybe even a trickster. No way he was going to risk his hand..

"I'll have to improvise then."

Richard pointed the Evoker at himself, shouted Pendragon's name, and pulled the trigger.

The blonde teenage Queen of Knights appeared out of the blue mist that formed.

"Pendragon! Vorpal Blade!"

The summon complied, and slashed repeatedly.

The slashing was powerful enough that the socks were simultaneously cut through and swept away. The socks were coming, but Pendragon had cut a safe path through.

"Come on!"

(Does that seem plausible?)

"Tch, fine. So much for a good first impression."
He turns to the others and asks, "Is there any particular reason we can't just wait out the storm? This forest seems safe enough for the moment."
