He is a human! :O I should think he has a better understanding of the human body than Earthlings. Well, at least, HIS body.

P.S. I'm probably pissing you off with the mechanics of stuff with this character. In retrospect I should have just made my own character! :O

I just figured I would give you some information on those two points.

A: I said Valentine lacked knowledge about human anatomy because if he lived on Mars, and I think you said something about this earlier,= but I'm too lazy to find it, he himself would be the only human he had to judge by. It's kind of like how a psychologist with one bipolar patient cannot make a proper baseline. He needs more data.

B: Kind of, but I just run with it. The amount of information about whatever state of mind, ability, or other Martian oddity you're employing at that time is directly related to how well I can make it work. So as long you keep up these detailed descriptions, you can keep doing things like that. Same with anyone else that has some ability they would like to develop.

Turn Eleven

Players:

Josh
Quote
Pick up the hammer that hit me then head back towards the river, move from shadow to shadow and do my best to avoid being spotted, If attacked get close and use my hammer to beat my enemies head to a pulp if this fails rip his arms off and beat him to death with them.

{1} You fail to pick up the Hammer.

Blenk
Quote
Blenk will do anything possible to heal himself, using whatever energy is required. He's going to die. And soon, if that wound isn't patched, at the very least.

{5} Blenk has a sudden breakthrough. It all makes sense now. Blenk is fully healed.(kind of a waste because of the full heal incoming anyway.)

Valentine
Quote
Valentine withdraws; slowing his heartrate to induce a controlled coma.

{4} Valentine succeeds in his blatant escapism. Retreating into a deep coma. Awaiting the time when he chooses to reanimate.

Grek
Quote
Breathe fire at the elves! Let them burn like sugary kindling!

{6} Grek loses control of his facial flamethrower, coating almost the entire area in flame. (Yeah, this won't end well.)

KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Grek:      Flame resistant.
Valentine: Asleep, so automatic hit. No chance of dodging. Flames cauterize wounds but cover entire body in first degree burns. Pain the likes of which no living creature should ever have to endure.
Ynot:      {3} Ynot manages to avoid most of the firestorm. Only singing his tail. Eh, reptile. That'll grow back.
Gregrar:   {3} Gregrar dodges out of the way of the sudden blast. Avoiding all but a lick of flame that moderately burns his foot. Great Pain.
Bork:      {4-1} Bork avoids the impromptu cleansing flame. Barely. It cauterizes his wounds, stopping bleeding. It also scorches his hand. Pain.

Arken:     {2} The world's most unlucky dwarf, Arken avoids the body of the flames thanks to his carrier, Ynot, but is striken about the face by a wave of heat. His face will forever be scarred, but the damage is superficial. The pain, is not.
Scales:    {1+1} Scales and his mount do not notice the sudden firestorm in time, they both take a blast of sheer heat to their front. Moderate Burns.
Quake:     {5+1} Quake notices the dragon in time, managing to not only save himself, but also save Dutch.
Mono:      {2+1} Mono dodges the body of the inferno, but his mount is not so lucky. The ungodly screams of agony echo about the valley for what feels to be an eternity before mercifully it's owner ends it's suffering.
Dutch:     {1+1} N/A Refer to Quake.

Bork
Quote
Grab hold of the Iron Warhammer that fell near me and drag myself behind cover.

{2} You grasp the Warhammer, but do not manage to get yourself into cover.

Klaus
Quote
Look around the cave for anything useful.

{3} You see a stockpile of food and a carving knife. As well as a +Oaken Crossbow+ and a stock of approximately 30 Boar Bone Bolts.

Unknown Human
Quote
Grab a vial and run up the stairs. Then look to make a meal, oblivious to the death and destruction outside.

{4} You manage to run out of the poisonous deathtrap and shut the door behind you before the fumes invade the common room. Before your mad dash you manage to grab one of the Cure Superficial Wounds potions.

Ynot
Quote
Grab warhammer. Slither for the mountains.

{3} You wrap the *Bismuth Bronze Warhammer* in another coil of your serpentine body and, while still carrying your dwarven baggage, you slither away to an unspecified area around ten meters away from the Wreckage, being as far away from the carnage as possible.

Gregrar
Quote
Search for a bladed object to use as a weapon.

{5} You miraculously find a piece of shredded metal that almost perfectly resembles a two-handed sword. Because of it's improvised nature, it lacks a proper handle, pommel, or crossguard.

NPCs:

Arken
Quote
Scream in pain. Pass out.

{N/A} Sleep, little one. Your suffering is almost over.

Assassin Scales
Quote
Remount.

{N/A} You climb back aboard your mount.

Assassin Quake
Quote
Assassin Quake will again try to slay the Eel.

{1} The Eel is well beyond Quake's blade. He gives chase.

Assassin Mono
Quote
Assassin Mono will trample the human that inexplicably materialized. Mono has learned to not question this type of thing.

{2} Mono is grieving for his lost mount.

Assassin Dutch
Quote
Assassin Dutch will fire his arrow at the dragon.

{1} Dutch is distracted by the firestorm at the last moment! His aim falls short, striking his comrade, Scales. Armor absorbs most of the blow, but bruising is incurred.

Tora

The Goddess of Mercy and Fertility looks down upon you, and cries out against your great misfortune. You feel your every ache and pain flow out of you in a soothing wave of bliss. Giving you the strength to fight back the cruel Hand of Fate.

Spot/Listen Check:
{1} The excitement and fear of the battle prevent you from sight-seeing.

Arken's turn was used as anyones would be when they are that wounded. Some of you were nearing that point. I decided to only screw over our little Dwarven pincushion because NPC's are always bullet fodder.

That turn went pretty well.

I wouldn't count on any more pity from immortal beings, they're sort of shallow like that. They flit from interest to interest rather quickly, despite having literally all the time in the universe to spend on them. Probably a by product of being able to do anything, so there's always something more interesting than Urist A.

(( Lol what happened to no more rolls for actions you can't fail? All he had to do was reach down and pick it up lol thats the essence of impossible to fail. ))

Pick up the hammer, Charge towards the river at full speed, Take note of anything interesting I see on the way, Smash the first stranger I see on the head with the hammer then continue to smash until my hammer has a nice coating of brain and blood.

For stabbing stuff, its very sharp if refined by dwarfs.
Spoiler alert!

About the universe: I imagine one of the less serious D&D campaigns. I certainly based Grek on their half-dragons.

Maul the nearest elf.
Enemy elf, to be precise.

It's Gragrar not Gregrar.

Anyway, on to my action: See if I can form a small strip of leather from one of the legs of my trousers and place it around what would be the hilt of the shredded metal in order to protect my hands from the jagged edges. Run for the mountains toward Ynot and his dwarven baggage.

Also, in Speaks Elvish (-2 to basic communication, -6 to anything else) I presume you mean -2 and -6 when I use try to speak elvish due to the fact I only have a basic understanding of the language, correct?

No it isn't. Everyone knows the Gods only care about Priests, Paladins, and Player Characters.

Good point. I'll just make that not count against your next action.

Pretty much. The reasons it falls into less serious are pretty straight forward.
  • Way more fun to write and read this way, probably more fun to play. Or so I assume.
  • More surprising and flexible.
  • And, most importantly, I was too lazy to actually make rules and specifics for the universe, just saying "have fun, kids!" is much easier.

Yes. That's the idea. Sound about right for his level of knowledge? The -2 because I assume his grammar would be awful, his vocabulary sub-standard, so even saying "I want water" would probably come out something like "me water". And as for the -6, well, because that's a guaranteed failure. I take Basic Knowledge to mean vocabulary under 50 words, and zero understanding of the rules of the language. If any of this is not the case, then I can change the modifiers.

Well, you could give Blenk some magic experience or something. I'd love to be a half-troll walking healing potion.

Blenk will rush outside, grab a weapon and help the others kill their foes!

I did. Check his skill level. The whole spiel about finally getting it, was because I gave him a skill level on account of Great Success.

Absolutely. As I said, literally anything is possible. If someone masters the correct magic, you could all turn into housecats shoved into poptarts that shat rainbows while sprinting endlessly across the galaxy.

Becoming fluent in Elvish is a matter of practice and determination.

Grab crossbow, bolts and carving knife. Look outside the cave.

(Should it do a roll for looking outside the cave for something useful? Hammers did just fall from the sky and there were flames everywhere.)
