Seeing as we are ending this after the election anyway, could Keboo just take over for Aqizzer?

I'd be willing to do that if Aqizzar doesn't want to finish it out (though I think it's margrave's turn).

Apologies, you'll get the turn tomorrow night. Traveling over memorial day weekend made it impossible to look at the turn.

(Turn sent.)

Man Kebooo you certainly are...persistent. I have maybe a fourth of all that, and I thought managing the supply lines on Gwynneth was rough. I cannot imagine trying to slog through all that.

I agree with ending the game after the elections, a bit late voicing my opinion but, eh.

As for mainiac's suggestions I heartily approve anything that cuts through resource slop and tackle and makes the early game less about setting up industry and more playing a dark age of technology feudal lord trying to salvage the ruins of a bygone era.

I think I can tough it out another nine turns.  Not having to worry about any long term strategy really lightens up my approach to the game.  We can all just pretend the shattered remnants of House Hawkwood have divided against each other and are eventually subsumed in the future.

Once, Gorakhan had lost popularity with her people. In a position of great power, she squandered it, lost most of her family, and gave away entire worlds to the enemy. Since those dark days, she resolved to make amends to her people. The Decados now experienced unprecedented growth and prosperity. Everywhere one turned their eye gave a glimpse of the anti-Hazat propaganda now littering Decados territory. The last of the rebel worlds surrendered and pledged allegiance to her cause. Not even they wished to see the tyrant usurper Lazarus given the throne. Posters defacing Lazarus' handsome features could be seen in every tavern, young men gladly enlisted to throw themselves in front of any mega tank shell they could. Even young women, idolizing Gorakhan's stern and brutal demeanor, were ready to die. There was a fervor boiling over, one of such magnitude that Gorakhan had nearly lost order and control amongst her fleets and armies. The commanders were eager to enter battle, even if she wished it, she would not have been able to order them to stand down. It was a warm Sunday afternoon, while lounging in her personal hot tub, that Gorakhan nonchalantly commanded the strongest elements of her fleet to jump to Byzantium. After they had left, the stars were still blotted out by the Decados fleets unable to fit within the confines of Absolution. The Final War for Byzantium was about to begin.

Apologies about taking so long, I knew this game would be a time sink, but just imagining how long a turn would take 30 ingame years from now gives me chills.

Now it's my turn to apologise for the delay. I should be able to pass the turn on later today.

The turn has been sent.

Well, if I do manage to win the elections, it won't be thanks to my ingenious strategic planning.

Oh by the way, the ETA in the topic title is set so that T-0 will be the turn when we vote. Although the voting turnover might be unusually low at the turn of this decade, even by recent standards.

When you get down to it this election is all about democracy.  One side says "One man, one vote"* while the other side wants all the voters to be equal before the law**.  It's all quite inspiring to see such a surge of enthusiasm for democratic principles.

*specifically, only one guy gets to vote
**registered as deceased

Rejoice! Every publication on Severus hailed the stunning news: The main Hazat fleet was annihilated above Byzantium. The relics destroyed, of which one had already been recovered by Decados expedition teams. Rumors swirled of the great battle. Some say a lone Vlad cruiser was sacrificed to scout the enemy fighter positions. Others say fresh reinforcements were shipped in mid-battle. But the one fact all could agree on, the Decados vanquished the menacing Hazat armada and now had supremacy over the throne world. Every brigade was on standby; the invasion was about to commence. Hordes of DNA assault legions shuffled one by one into the steel embrace of their freighters. Perhaps never to return home, but as long as their home remained free of Lazarus's iron grip they would die in peace. The morph bombers flew by, rushed to the front lines with all haste. Warships and fighters of all shapes and sizes continued to funnel toward Byzantium; no avenue of success could be left open for the Hazat.

Lady Gorakhan relaxed. With the main resistance out of the way, the demise of the Hazat was all but assured. For a brief moment she considered the prime opportunity she had, how easily she might grab the throne for herself. But she was old and worn out. The death of her family had taught her that political power was not worth the endless war it brought along. She had learned each domain is best ruled by its own family. So the fleeting thought vanished, and her one aim, to destroy Lazarus's dreams, was close to fruition.
