Well it all depends on what you think the odds of getting friendly intervention are.

Slim to nil of course.  I don't think any of us really have useful friends at this point.

Well, it'd be way too much telling to actually talk about stuff like that, now wouldn't it?

(Turn sent.)

Wow that was a turn of ups and downs. I've never had such a mixed feeling about a turn. I promise to tell you all when it becomes not such an important secret.

Incidentally the bad news is I just learned that bombarding a plague bomb is a Bad Idea(tm).

Midian is hereby considered a quarantine zone. No ships that are not of House al-Malik are allowed in orbit or allowed onto the surface. Good news is I also got the Vau by accident. So there's that.

It seems to be the season of plague bombs.  Guess what I just found in a ruins?

The regent has still not answered my calls for an explanation as to when the hell he gave notice to move my troops or they would be attacked?  And the situation escalates further over Byzantium as Hazzat has moved a full fleet in.  Naturally we moved our local squadrons into the area to maintain parity but we have no desire to escalate these petty matters into a full blown war.

In order to protect our noble family we will be securing alternative lodgings.  Hopefully the matter will blow over once that measure is taken.

Dear Diary.

How dare they! Who dares to attack without formal declaration of war?? Treason! Treachery! Betra...

Oh, wait. It was I, Jose Maria Lazarus daSilva III.
Never been huge fan of parity, I'll tell you that. And boy, the audacity of some people to attack the Imperial Guard itself? That's just beyond rude. I honestly feel fully justified in my actions. If you can't feed your people then let them eat cake, don't go storming Emperor's cellars.

Oh, the excitement of combat can go into one's head. I'm still all giddy inside. I should call this maneuver "Reverse Cadavus" or something like that, it wasn't too shabby at all. Too bad some confusion in the chain of command got that destroyer destroyed(hehe, I'm so puny) by PTS fire before the ground forces got to it. Rest in pieces, comrades.

Let's see, the total loses this year amount to four fighter squadrons and two destroyers, plus a few unlucky special forces fellas on the ground. This is a problem. The problem lies in that we've lost not enough forces to make us look weakened.
So, countdown to everybody hates the Hazat 3,2,1...

-Lazzie

P.S. The Archives have dug up this fantastic piece of music in their pursuit of forbidden knowledge. I have ordered it to be repurposed as the new battle anthem of the Hazat.

Well, you said it to me yourself in our correspondence some few decades ago - everybody piles on what they perceive as the greatest danger.

I swear I mentioned it in at least one PM, not to mention my proclamation upon trying to seize the crown, and probably one or two other posts.

I still don't get how you can possibly try to justify leaving assassins hanging around another player's base, after you've already used them once before, as being anything other than an overtly hostile show of force.

I got news for you.  You didn't.

They were units like any other thanks to your shenanigans with the regency.  I needed something to establish a defensive perimeter with.
