It is both natural and just that humanity should unite against all alien menaces.  We should be fighting against the Symbiots and the Vau both.  That is the mission that house Li Halan was committed to before the recent unpleasantness.  That is the mission we wish to continue if our resources were no longer being diverted into an entirely unnecessary conflict.  If peace with honor could be made then we would continue the fight to the north as you do the pancreators work in the south.

Assembled Lords and Ladies, I doubt any here can dispute the claim that the Vau are not to be trusted, indeed past al-Malik Caliphs have tried heartily to engage them in friendly diplomacy only to be rebuffed in their overtures and threatened with destruction if they continued to try peddling their wares in orbit. A species so hostile to trade is no friend of Humanity and I wholeheartedly throw my support in the Lord Regents vow to end the Vau.

The Vau are a menace. The devil's seed, born in the hellish voids alien to Man. Long have we suspected their deceitful visages to hide malice and scorn for all that is godly and virtuous.
And sure enough, the Hazat squadrons dispatched to investigate recent attacks on shipping over Bannockburn have followed the fleeing scoundrels through the jump gate, only to find the corsairs hide behind the alien dreadnoughts, and among many a husk of man-made transport, whom cruel fate have led to their doom at the claw of these ungodly hellspawn.
This is proof enough of the contempt they hold us in, imagining us to be helpless game to be preyed on. This is reason enough for us to teach them the final lesson in wrath and vengeance.
The Hazat warriors are in an uproar, crying for blood, eager to bring Pancreator's justice to the beastly creatures, and to affirm their honour on the field of battle.

Truly, the Vau are a thorn in the side of the Empire - a thorn that needs to be removed. So we welcome the Fleet Commander's initiative, but we have to warn him to make haste, else he'll find out the Hazat have finished the job ourselves.

While my house has lost its voice on the throne world, we relay our heartfelt belief that it is humans, not the Vau, that have rightful claim to those worlds they lord over. Our species has shown itself capable of diplomacy and communication. Theirs has not. Let them return to their vast hegemony in the deep reaches of space. Our empire cannot abide such an encroachment so close to our sacred noble houses.

As for the war of Cadavus, it can end at any time. The conditions would be free (limited to three ships at a time) passage over Cadavus, and free passage to Byzantium II (limited to two ships at a time).  Given the depths of what both houses have already lost in the war, it would be unthinkable for any reparations to be made for either side.

You will visit Byzantium in an urn before I agree to that.  You expect me to endorse your murder and betrayals.  When I say peace with honor I don't mean that I give you whatever your heart desires and ask nothing in return.  We've seen where that path leads, you brutally killing galactic heroes.

Well then I don't see how there can be peace. My royal line now only claims two to our family name. If my brothers all died just for the status quo, then I could never again sleep with peace.

My people do not consider war stupid when it is to protect our frontier colonists from aggressive, unannounced unilateral occupation by a hostile and belligerent house.

I was more getting at the fact that you'd rather see your brothers die then bother to y'know even consider diplomacy before starting your war of aggression.

We tried diplomacy. You had to leave or face war. There was nothing else for us to consider. My brothers led the war effort personally.
