Lady Gorakhan supports the eye's right to gather intelligence. Let no house consider themselves above the law of the imperial ministries!

(I think the more drama/intrigue we can create early on, the more interesting)

I created drama in the other game and the other players responded by getting slow as rocks in january so I'm wary about being the first to take the plunge this time.

Well I fight drama with double drama. I just want to get to a point in the game where we can actually build ships, have supply lines, etc, so there is force behind threats and actions.

Turn sent.

I'll release my ministry's mission statement sometime later.

Reports came flooding in. The monitors hissed and crackled as the Decados communications relay on Severus was bombarded by incoming messages out of Stigmata. Gorakhan had clawed her way to recognition on the galactic level, procuring the station of Stigmata Garrison Commander. But with that came heavy responsibility. She fashioned herself as one of the few deserving to rule as Emperor over the known worlds. But that position would offer little solace if the symbiots were ever to break through. She sighed deeply and resolved to put her personal glories on hold until mankind was safe from its greatest threat. As much as she was willing to betray any one individual, she was unwilling to betray them all.

"My Lady Commander, we have engaged the ..." and the message from the forward ranger cut out. Gorakhan moved to the next display.

"Lady Gorakhan, esteemed Garrison Commander, we request your attention, we need orders, a policy, for years we have only been able to do the bare minimum to maintain our position." the local commander on the surface of Stigmata pleaded in a live stream. This man, Dominick Lorezo, was known to most. He was a fine leader and soldier that had proven himself through the years fighting the symbiots to a standstill. He carried scars only his wife would ever be privvy to. Only in the Imperial Guard could you find a match for these brave and valiant warriors that had to throw themselves into a maw of unimaginable horrors day after day.

"Commander Lorezo, you have my full attention. I am transmitting my orders now. They are rather detailed. I will continue as acting governor over the colonies at Stigmata for at least the next decade. I expect a full report at year's end. Should the symbiots ever pass through the gate, you have my solemn pledge the Decados will hold the line at any cost. Let us hope it never comes to that."

Gorakhan flicked off the display and let her subordinates handle the rest of the obligations. She was tired already, tired at the thought this great responsibility was hers to carry. But to become emperor would bring with it an even greater role in shaping the future of man. She could not shy away. Having not slept for days, she dozed off, visited by vivid and nightmarish images of the symbiots.

Turn sent.  Nothing like watching the scores of the already leading three houses skyrocket to drive home just how fucked I am.

Ah but you have shown yourself to be a unifying leader and surely that must count for something, noble cousin.

Yeah, it's gonna count for me being a figurehead whipping boy by the time the next election comes along.  Everybody will be all like, "You better keep appointing us or we'll stop voting for you and then all Hell will break loose."  I'll go down as the least powerful Emperor in history.

Which I guess is a good way to run things, but not a good way to make House Hawkwood less of a punk than it already is.

I must say that it's a very good arrangement from where I'm sitting.

I think the church is coming after me for research that I started but then immediately switched away from.  Stupid bugs.

So I've got this mine that should be producing 5 gems per turn(100% health and loyalty), but my gem stock increases only by 3 per turn. I know I took insanity for a trait, but it should only reduce resource production by 5%, and round any fractions in my favour - per Nova home page. It's kinda crippling as it is.

Yep, if any research points were committed to an unauthorized technology, you now have to finish researching it and then strike it in order to get the church off your back.  Pretty suck, isn't it.

Well, the Eye can't really do anything except except send one assault lander with a spy in it all over the place, so it's not like we don't know what you're doing.

I'm a little bit tempted to show you how wrong you are by landing 10 DNA legions next to your capitol.

I'd say this is what I get for listening to the pro player's advice, but it's not like I could do anything about it anyway.  I'm not letting some big secret out here, since there's at least one spy running around in my capital as we speak.

No worries, Aq, it's just a little bit of friendly teasing. I ended up with the smallest space dick of the three, so I've got to do some posturing.
