The Garrison can be nullified pretty easily too though. If it was used against me I would destroy its transports, then what can it do, unless it's gone to another world to begin gem production in order to make jump capable ships. And of course the fleet is all up front and it's not realistic to replace anything of theirs. Although I was once in a game where Criticorum (on historical map) was given to the ministries, because of the non-stop wars being fought over it.

At one point during this game I even entertained the thought of proposing we give Cadavus to the three ministries. But, war is war and the evil relics showed their face.

The key is to make smart mistakes. Like losing four nobles for no good reason, or bombarding a ruins with a cruiser that is within range of rebel PTS weapons that you've already spotted, and taking 70% damage.

Or trusting transports full of relics to diplomatic guarantees.

Hey Keboo, how did you know that the relics were in those transports anyhow?

I knew you wouldn't leave them on the ground for capture, since destruction would be a thousand times more preferable than me finding a way to get them, and I knew you wouldn't withdraw them from Cadavus. Just like I am certain you have a relic and noble sitting above Tethys this very moment. From my perspective, they couldn't possibly be anywhere else. Likewise, I assumed your noble was there with them, which he was. If I had been wrong, I'm not sure it would have made any difference. You were going to easily win Cadavus without any resistance if you kept them, and taking out a bunch of transports was very appealing to help stem any further incursions beyond Cadavus.

Turn sent.  Has it been fifty already?  Yes yes it has, and would be more were I not terrible at PBEM games.

Another perfunctory voicing of the Senate's concerns, more silent than ever.  Have my staid rule and observation been recognized as the rightful guidance of the Human Galaxy?  Have not the Symbiots been pacified, and the Vau swept aside?  There has been strife, indeed murder, under my rule, but there is yet time enough to correct these atrocities.

More time.  I only need more time.

Uh... the symbiots have been pacified in spite of your regency, not because of it.  Just sayin'.

(Turn sent.)

"Midian lies open to us." spoke the Captain of the ASFC 'Steel Rain' as he pointed to the holomap of the planet below.

"To be perfectly honest I expected more from the Vau," commented Yusara al-Malik, Shaykah of Icon and sister to the Caliph.

Thumping the ceramsteel console before him, Taraxes the Bishop of Icon called out, "They are wretched unbelievers and agents of Antinomy! It was no surprise to me that our Holy Crusade has been this successful, the Pancreator willed it!"

Turning her head to the side so the Bishop would not see her rolling her eyes she droned back, "Yes the Pancreator willed it. But even then these Vau cities are barely large enough to house garrisons and a modest air force."

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"And the apathy with which they perceive our invasion..." murmured the Captain.

"Their souls, if they have them, have long suffered under the yoke of their oppressive Mandarin. Every work force we have discovered has gladly given themselves to the Orthodox Church and obeyed our commands! Praise the Prophet and his messenger: the Patriarch!" shouted Taraxes in pious fervor.

"It certainly made carving the Palatial Estates that much easier..." muttered Yusara.

Taraxes turned to the Shaykah with narrowed eyes and spoke almost in a hiss, "Do not forget that a Church must be erected to the Crusade here, so that we may begin full scale conversion in Glory and Honor to HIM!"

Yusara defensively raised her hands and said, "Of course, of course I shall direct a work detail to create a cathedral where the Ground Forces first landed and there I trust you will stay for your ministrations?"

The Captain whispered, "...and out of my hair..."

The Bishop wore a beatific smile and responded not hearing the Captain, "Certainly! The Flock must be tended to and a Mass performed! I go now to my people!"

"I suppose I may as well accompany you, I am fascinated by what the infantry breaching squads found..." as the Shaykah followed.

The Captain sighed and turned to order his bridge staff to begin plotting in more firing solutions for the Fleet to bombard. There was still plenty of work to be done.

It seems that no one had a majority of votes so the regent remains the same.

Turn sent.

So the regent must have promised something very valuable indeed to the Caliph, who has been talking to Lord Hazat and myself about his intention to attack the regent in the very near future.  Curious.

I don't know what Hawkwood and Hazat plan to do about this situation but I'll just weigh in my two cents and say that if any hostilities were to start I certainly wouldn't be coming to the aid of the Caliph and house Decados is in absolutely no position to do so.

Suffice to say that the players in this particular scheme will soon make their intentions known and I won't go spilling the beans to the Galactic community without their say so.

I will only say in the interests of House al-Malik things proceeded exactly as they were supposed to.

We take issue with Lord Mainiac suggesting that we should do something about "the situation". We don't see any situation. Nor do we know about anyone talking with us about attacking somebody else.
The warlike Hazat are a peaceful people. All we want is to be allowed to weld more armor plating on our tanks undistrubed.
