By the look of things Decados doesn't have much in the way of defenses at Tethys.  Don't suppose that makes them want to reconsider their unprovoked aggression or anything?  Or shall I be forced to occupy territory all the way to Severus before they learn the value of peace.

Which unprovoked aggression are we reconsidering exactly? It all began when you threatened my ships with annihilation. That was provocation enough to start this cascade of events. I am not sure what your house is asking for at this point except for total war across all lands and holdings of both our empires. If that is what your people seek, we will gladly give battle. Perhaps we may even clear our own path by force to the throne world and avenge my three brothers. You may try, if you like, to occupy planets all the way to Severus. You may find it to be a rather impossible task beyond Tethys, and my people will have no qualms with retaliation. You will not be able to hold space supremacy over more than one planet at a time and so we do not have much to fear from these bellicose threats. If you manage to take Tethys, we will take Vera Cruz or your outer worlds, and if you come back for those, we will simply retake Tethys. My people are not even convinced you have more to gain from expanding the war than you have to lose, so we have no reason to capitulate or offer unequal peace terms. I am sure the rest of the houses watch on in silent glee as we destroy one another, but it appears neither of us has given the other much choice.

I merely told you to not trespass.  You seriously have an entitlement complex.

You told me my ship would be destroyed if it turned back to Vera Cruz. I don't believe you had even openly claimed Vera Cruz at this time, and there was no palace flying the Li Halan colors. But you felt the right to declare hostilities even if I wanted to return my ship to home rather than Byzantium II. And if you were at all a decent noble, you would understand it is not "entitlement" for a noble house to have representation on the throne world and some basic connection to it. Of course your people do not believe in the traditions of Byzantium II. Say what you will of my actions at Cadavus, I still have never broken a law on the sacred throne world, nor do I war with the church. Huddle with your assassins, infidel, and pray that you do not regret sending your ships to Tethys.

So when I stake claims and resort to diplomacy to get them respected it's provocation.  But when you attack me over claims that I had no clue about... yeah that's legit.

Entitlement problem.  You have it.

What part of threatening me with destruction if I turn back to Vera Cruz is diplomacy, and what part of threatening you with destruction if you don't leave Cadavus isn't?

The difference being, oh wise and educated cousin, that I wasn't laying crap to your crap.  Diplomacy isn't giving warning of your upcoming banditry.

My house happens to believe taking an inanimate object is better than destroying the lives of those aboard an unarmed transport. But your house was always the bloodthirsty warmongers, deep down, despite your flowery words, every other noble can see the anger and hatred that drips from every word you write. And we see you began another desperate conquest to reclaim the relics again. How long before Li Halan lords over the galaxy? We can only pray other houses have found the others.

Yeah, I'm generally very lenient when it comes to this, but having to wait four days each time the save goes to Aqizzar is getting on my nerves.
Dude, can't you really find an hour every two days to play with your toy soldiers? Even a half-arsed turn would be better than this.

As a matter of fact, sometimes no I cannot.  I'll admit that I don't have an excuse for not having the turn done yesterday.

I'm not going to lie.  Every turn I click through dozens of new construction, invent things to send my engineers off to do, watch these massive forces roll around, and check the score card to see that yep, I'm still miles behind everyone else in development and always will be.  Don't get me wrong, I'd like to keep playing.  But the fun is gone, and left about twenty turns ago.

Hell, I'll come right out and say it.  Another thing I do every turn is stare at that Byzantium tab and think, "Is now the right time to go mad with power?  Nah, still doesn't look like it."

Turn sent by the way.

(Turn sent.)

Lo, do the agents of Antinomy and the vile Symbiots vex me most fiercely, as a good contingent of rebel forces have been corrupted on cold Apshai, their Legions march under alien command to preserve their slimy grasp on the planet.

But fear not, for the faithful drive them back with flame and have burnt another of their wretched hives to the barren ground. The first stones are placed for Garrison castles and temples to Brother Battle even now train acolytes recruited from amongst the few but hardy forest peoples that survived all these years.

(I might even post pictures so the 3 readers following us know just how much I'm talking about and why I still hate shufflers.)

Rectified. EFS is not a good replacement for sleep and naming things.
