Please, this is not a matter of war.

I'm tired of this.  Let the freighter go.  Let Decados throw a party in the grand hall of the Kish palace.  Because Decados always get's what it wants and Li Halan always caves.  And you fools will do nothing to check Decados power.

The freighter itself is the matter of great importance. I do not think it is wise to advertise my weaknesses and why this freighter is needed sooner rather than later. The regent took matters into his own hands and helped with a genuine diplomatic effort. He will attest to my house's sincerity.

This is the first instance of the Decados "getting what it wants" and it is hardly a victory to celebrate. We were already halfway through Li Halan space before you threatened to shoot us down. If we turned back, we wasted years of effort sending that food to Byzantium. If we went through, there was no turning back. Obviously there will be no more travel through Li Halan space since all future plans are contingent on that fact.

This is a case of Li Halan not getting what they wanted (Tethys and a contiguous empire spanning from Byzantium to Tethys and beyond) and wanting to punish my house. I offered other worlds. Let us not pretend the Li Halan do not have the strongest personal fleet, nor heaps of trace at their disposal. Yes, my people may have more cities, but throwing food and metal at ceramsteel enforced equipment is not an effective strategy. I cannot imagine that the rest of the lords will so easily write me in as the most powerful and dangerous house. I can do little to exert effect on the capital world. I have not shown the belligerence or hostility that your house has. And you would try to rile them up to see me as the threat, to your own advantage.

Good Lord, what have I done now?

I will say two things: First, that an unarmed freighter is of no importance to anyone but it's owner, especially to someone with command of the most powerful fleet in the known universe.

Second, that a generous offer to allow a neighbor divided territory with one's own, surely well armed if my advisers are worth the tribute we pay them, holdings between them is in a word hollow.

Turn sent.  Sorry about always being the one holding this up, but at least you put the dead air to good use, I guess.

And another turn is sent.

Do you know how when capturing routed rebel units outside your homeworld they always have 0% loyalty untill routed twice?
Well, it doesn't seem to happen on one of my worlds. I suspect it might actually be a feature, in the sense that I control a church on that planet - perhaps that causes the routers to "trust" me more?
Can you guys look at your worlds and try to confirm/discredit this hypothesis? I.e. "Does having a church cause the captured rebels to be loyal to you?"
Or maybe it's the hospital, hmmm...
For science!

edit: nope, nevermind. These were just ruin rebels, and it seems that they are never 0% loyalty, unlike the regular rebel shmoes.

So... I sent my turn yesterday but forgot to post as such.  Margrave has messaged me since then, so I figure he's had it.

Mainiac, you have the save yet?

I just checked and its in my spam folder. Gimme a little bit to play it out. Honestly, we play 28 turns in a row and there's not a single problem from my email, and it just puts it in spam now?

Sorry about the delay, I got the email from Margrave now but my OS got itself fracked.  I'm back up on linux now but I don't have a windows environment yet so I can't play until I get that running.

Edit: It seems my current HD can't be salvaged.  Luckily my new one should be arriving late tonight.

Damn, I feel your pain all too well on that one.  Hopefully the game will run on your fresh system - I just had to build myself a new PC because of a HD failure, and it's the first computer I've ever seen that outright refuses to run EoFS.

And we're back!

I can only conclude that the Symbiots attempted to forstall their inevitable doom at my hands by sabotaging my computer systems.  It did them no good for the legions of Li Halan fly onward undeterred.  Our ranks grow with every passing jump.  The rebellious noble of Cadavus realized the error of his way and joined our holy quest.  He will find sure redemption in the glorious battle against the foe.  Our scouting aircraft on Cadavus happened across a ruin, inside which we found the sacred lamp of knowledge.  Surely all must see that the Pancreator smiles upon our most holy quest!

Fellow nobles houses, join this noble quest that you too may bask in the kindness of the Pancreator.
