"Uppity?!" Ripmaw said incredulously, then thought on it for a minute. He calmed a bit and performed the equivalent of a shrug, rippling the muscles on his back, "I'll agree to that. Not having a mother can do that to you."

((Psssh, Ripmaw is quick at the tongue and even quicker to anger, so I don't expect this to be the first time he inadvertently insults someone. :P Try not to take him too seriously though, none of the character's views reflect my actual views unless noted in OOC.))

N-not having a mother...?

I...sorry Ripmaw...I didn't know. Moonfang replied. She moved away from Ripmaw involuntarily, her thoughts affixing themselves on parentage.

I didn't have any parents either...

S-shall we...go?

Ripmaw whipped his head roughly, as if to shake a bad memory away. "It doesn't matter. Let's keep the chicks moving." He sank into a sullen silence after this, not even hissing at the chicks when they got out of line, settling instead for threatening glares.

((Avian females are often larger than males, and dromaeosaurs' closest living relatives are birds. Also, lionesses do most of the hunting, and lions are the best behavioral analogue to raptors I can think of.))

((Behaviorally, my original concept was analogs of Cape Hunting Dogs.

Whenever there's a behavior question you guys haven't hashed out in RP I fill in the gap with something from the Wikipedia pages for them (and occasionally Hyena and Wolf). They have large packs/clans of mixed gender. Lion prides tend be <10 adults with 1-2 adult males. The Deathbringers i mentioned a while ago are the Lion analog in this world.

Your mating is more avian, with, as established by previous RP long term pair bonds, and many breeders per clan rather than a dominant pair or dominant male.

I've so far written both parents as caring. Probably does fall a bit heavier on the female though when the chicks are young if we're looking at the avian breeding model.

I have no opinon on whether you're bigger than him or not. :D ))

((Yes that's a fair summation.))

lol have fun with that in RP all you want.

For gameplay purposes there is chick, juvenile, and full grown. The combat and food system doesn't have enough granularity for a few pounds either way to matter. :D

3-6 is young and allowed to tag along on some hunts.

7 Is pretty much adult size.

40 is pretty darned old. Not a max cap per say, but declining health and the statistics of hunting things larger than you generally catch up by then.

((Is there any place for me to hide?))

I'm afraid not really. The vegetation is not terribly dense here and you are being observed at close range by multiple opponents. You'd have to both get out of line of sight, and a meaningful distance away to even try.

Terrain features you are aware of are trees. The rock. and some distance to the South a ridgeline.

((Yes, here's your map from back in Turn 17 the last time I rendered one. You haven't moved much since then.

It's a steep hill on both sides. The spine is about 100 feet in any direction containing the word South.

Getting over it would put you out of line of sight of any Snatchers coming from the camp, if not the ones immedietly around you. Which in order not to get your hopes up, I must point out are faster then you on your best day, and you are exhausted.

It's unlikely that Charlie will survive the next few minutes.

See the faint crecent of brown at the peek, and the slight shading change? I probably should have put darker shadows on this one...))

Another Hunter in the crowd becomes self aware. :P
He will be with the main pack, and able to post an action after next turn.

Player: Tophat
Name- Krakjaw
Sex - male
Age - 21
Description - fairly old compared to most of the hunters, still enjoys hunting to show what he can do. Is excellent at hiding, and uses this knowledge to work out where hidden creatures most likely are. He always was quite fragile though.

Stats:
+1 stealth
+1 senses
-1 defense
