*Didn't read the whole thread*

I cannot support this because it pretty blatantly doesn't support me.  There's no possible way I'd be able to run anything similar to this on my computer.  THIS is why the computer market was declared dead, really.  The 'good' games are too graphics heavy for anyone to play unless they invest in a great computer.  Consoles are very nice because you know your game will work when you put the disk in.  Computers always suffer because they make the game massive and then the majority of users can't even run it.  You want to make the computer franchise work again?  Make things that people can actually use!

Isn't it just a weebit early to criticize it for not working? I mean, if it's a cluster fuck when it comes out, feel free. I'm just wondering what your basis is for this reaction other than the perception it "doesn't support you."

I mean, having a shitty/outdated computer isn't the market's or developer's fault.

And honestly, you have to invest in a computer, period, to play newer games. Expecting every new game to settle for 5 to 10 year old hardware is patently unfair to everyone but yourself. Even consoles stop making games for their hardware after a certain point.

surely if they catered for everyone's 486 we'd just get another wing commander 2?
Been there done that.

I'm glad they're catering for PC gamers, as opposed to people who have a PC.

Sheesh, they are still getting funding trickling in... $6,831,843 now, almost 600k raised AFTER the initial funding campaign.

current issue is we are modernizing, if they regress that can cause alot of pissed people. Space games at most have always tried pumping the graphics to the best they can cause hell, space is beautiful and devs want to cash in on that. PC gaming has always been considered one thing and that's power, it was a niche in the first place cause people had to buy $100+ graphics cards so they can play. IF anything this creates a much more mature community than the consoles, its so little kiddies can't just jump in and start pewing around like they know everything, the fact i had to put work so i can play a game does kinda feel better plus my eyes hurt less. So what if my graphics card becomes obsolete i can scoff and slapped in a brand new one no problem, now to achieve 4k resolution...............

did they actually release minimum system requirements? Just because it has 'oh my goodness the pretties" doesn't mean you will 100% have to have a 95th percentile PC at the time it launches...

Well it requires one-off payment like Guild Wars 2, so you can wait til the game is released before you pay for it.

You have two years to raise $50-$60 dollars for it.  That's... $4 or $5 dollars a month.  Sooner if you can save more.  I'm sure you can manage that somehow :)

Lets say your budget consists of burritos, at 89 cents each. Assuming the final game is 55$, how many less burritos a month do you have to eat to save up for it?

(Basically, eat 2.5 less burritos each month, or approximately .09 less burritos per day).

This has been your burrito based savings estimate solution, next step: burrito investment!
