Appendicitis has a high rate of lethality if untended, although swoolen bulges aren't a feature of it, the closest thing that can cause pain and vomiting with a swoolen bulge on your abdominal wall would be an incarcerated hernia, which can cause the loop of intestines that gets stuck in it to die and rot inside you if untended. either case, you need medical attention. At any rate i didn't do a proper interview much less a physical examination, so the validity of this is about as good as looking up vague symptoms in google.

Or it could be nothing. The guy did not seem overly distressed or in pain. Plua 24 hours have passed...

So, no appendicitis. Got sent home because it didn't seem life threatening and got put on hydrocodon. They have no idea what it is, but are confident I won't die.

They just gave you painkillers, without accurate diagnosis and only "confidence you won't die"?

I'm no doctor, but it sounds like neither are they.

They injected me with contrast, CAT scanned me, said it wasn't appendicitis and didn't show up on the scan. The physical bulge on me didn't make them happy, though.
Edit: After giving me morphine, some anti-nausea medicine and a lot of saline. Two cups and an IV bag.

Well, they checked you out completely, but they don't know what's wrong?  And then they sent you home with some painkillers?  I feel like their reaction should be a bit more than 'take some of these.'  But I guess it's not like they can do much.  Try going to Canada, maybe.  They have good healthcare, right?
