Yeah, maybe all the clowns did get killed.
You'll have to abandon, but just start in the same civ so you get the legendary migrants.

Think it might have something to do with one strand actually stretching into the lowest cavern level... i was kinda surprised to find candy in the caverns, and FBs in hell.
Might be that hell is now officially part of the caverns because the strand connects the two...

Legendary migrants?
What if i reclaimed the fortress, think i will get the same empty hell again?

Maybe if you reclaim you might suddenly get a message that you breached hill, then your 7 dwarves will be killed.

I highly doubt it. Caverns don't count as the surface when a cave connects them, do they?

Dwarf Fortress.  Everything can break down here.  Players, Dorfs, Fortresses, even Hell itself.   8)

I've had a candy tube stretch from hell to above cavern 3, and it did breach when I mined the wrong tile.

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.

It could be possible that somewhere on your map, the cavern breached hell.  I've gotten FBs on the surface when the caverns meet the surface off-screen.  Would explain your FB-in-hell situation, but not the lack of a clown invasion.

When you breach, the 100 or so clowns spawn then and there and fly up out of the hole.  As far as FBs killing off all of hell, a very strong FB might be a match for a clown or two, but I don't think they'd be able to stay alive indefinitely down there with respawns.  As for killing off all the clowns in worldgen, there are literally infinite clowns according to the raws.

Hmm, perhaps the demons all went through the cave into the caverns, and all left the map that way?

Was there any slowness upon starting the map, or any dead things in any of the caverns?

I was thinking more along the lines of on his world map, in regards to that cavern system.  If the caverns on his embark breached hell, it stands to reason that he would have gotten the circus message when he breached the cavern layer.  I know that this "shouldn't" happen, but...

Maybe you set the number of demon types to 0 in advanced worldgen. That would make only defined (in the raws, as opposed to procedurally generated) creatures with [UNDERWORLD] token appear there- in an unmodded game there aren't any.

One would think that noobs aren't prepared for HFS.
I think that's the cause, demons must be disabled there. (Though really I don't get why there are FBs in that case)

Lazy Newb Pack just configures tilesets and stuff. I can only assume that it bugged out. No demons unless you raw'd 0 demon types means they bugged. So to destroy your fort i'd just sell huge amounts of wealth (Or give it away) until you get massive sieges.

Because you can't remove FBs, even with advanced worldgen parameters. Unless you removed caverns.
