I prefer to think of it as I'm the only one who's playing the game right.  It's supposed to be about fiendish plots and double dealing, guys.  Go start some crises of your own!

House Hawkwood denounces Al-Malik's stories of a destroyed freighter as a treacherous ploy to trick the Imperial fleet into intervening in the unfavorable diplomatic outset that Lady Yusara got them into after successive fiascos in their dealings. Leminkainen has not a single military vessel orbiting it and remains open to traffic from and to Byzantium until an act of direct aggression is initiated by Al-Malik.

We'd like to remind our illustrious brothers, however, that Al-Malik is barred access to Ravenna and other de facto Hawkwood planets unrelated to the route to Byzantium for the duration of the conflict they've sparked of their own declaration and Al-Malik ships entering those planets' orbits without authorization will be shot on sight.

@mainiac: who is playing the game properly, only the outcome will tell. Fiendish plots and double deals may have their value, but one cannot altogether ignore the positive diplomatic aspect of the game without undergoing at least a few risks.

Lemme get this straight, are you denying that the attack happened at all?

Is Lady Yusara truly so desperate that she will go around spreading lies at her whim's behest to try and defame its opponents? There isn't even a frigate on Leminkainen's orbit.

We will also note that, while traffic through Leminkainen remains open, that is so due to courtesy alone, for not only has Al-Malik broken the early agreement in which Hawkwood authorized them access through Leminkainen, but a blockading of Leminkainen in the event of an escalation would not conflict with the treaty signed by Hawkwood, as Al-Malik's capital planet retains its primary  route to Byzantium through Criticorum and, as such, there would not be one such a blockade that conflicts with the treaty.

1) It was not a frigate, it was a cruiser.
2) You could have very easily moved it to a different orbit or landed it after the attack.
3) I would be more then happy to turn my secure records over to a trustworthy member of the lower nobility ((read, give the save to someone who's not a player)) in order to have them verify my account.

Are you really committing to this absurd lie?  My, my, my, the depth that you can sink to are astounding indeed.

wait are we using OOC knowledge now? because it seems to me pretty meta-ish to use a screenshot from a third party to determine who of you is telling the truth,

stick to your IC possibilities and stop using and abusing OOC and Meta Stuff...

1. We would not know your mind's fabrications.
2. For all your lies, you speak the truth here.
3. There can be no records of something which has not happened. If House Al-Malik can, indeed, back its claims, we will be led to believe you've either gone as far as in to produce these records or to bribe the testimonies.

He already published my private messages in this forum.  If that isn't OOC and Meta then I don't know what the hell is.  IC he wouldn't have handy links showing the PMs were mine.  And IC he would hardly be able to deny the attack, an entire planet worth of observers would be witness.

This whole tactic seems extremely cheap to me.  He whacked me and now he'll play the blood and iron price.  He shouldn't try to invent a whole meta game angle that clearly he himself didn't obey before.

I'd like to weigh in. While I suspect that there was a freighter (it did come up suspiciously late that the might not have been), I can make a screenshot (and a save) right now* that shows either of these outcomes. So that proves nothing except that you have too much free time.

I'm not offering a screenshot, I'm offering to turn the save game over.

And I'm telling you I can make you a save just like yours, but with a frigate killing a freighter.

Stop trying of think what you could fake and think what you couldn't fake.  It would be a perfect copy because it would be the real thing.  The passwords for instance would all be correct, which is information that I do not have.

You mean the PMs bearing clearly IC writing?

I mean the IC communications that were clearly meant to be of a secretive nature.  IC they wouldn't bear a signature and a timestamp.  Everyone would have nothing but your word to go on.

When a spaceship is blown out of orbit above a planet that neither sides control on the other hand there would be plenty of witnesses.  So please, just give this crap a rest.

Yeah, about that. This is a feudal future*. Are you seriously going to conduct interviews with peasants in enemy occupied territory?
