((Sent))

House Hawkwood agrees to transfer owneships of all of its cities in Leminkainen to House Al-Malik in exchange for one freighter and a bulk hauler, to be delivered in short order, and a second frigate to be delivered at a later date. House Al-Malik, in turn, agrees to return all resources seized from House Hawkwood's mines in Delphi by Imperial Eye forces, special mention going to the cargo of gems recently transfered to the Imperial Eye's fort in the same planet.

All Hawkwood facilities have already been retrieved by House Hawkwood following a minor engagement with a renegade Eye soldier who refused to abide by the above agreement and was, as such, captured and returned to the Eye for future trial.

turn sent. For no particular reason. Also, I'm disappointed no one accepted my offer. So now I'm curious what it would take (through PM, natch).

So Hawkwood informs me that he's been landing troops on Bonnockburn.  I don't even know what to make of this.  I'm sure not please about it.

Hawkwood confirms the above; while a landing has yet to happen, Hawkwood ships have been orbiting it for a few years by now to prepare a campaign against the rebels therein present. As the only House with a continuous jump route to Bannockburn, given that others would have to pass through Stigmata space, House Hawkwood does not see how its anti-rebel actions would offend any of its illustrious brothers.

Bonnockburn is so close to Ishtakhr that we can only conclude this is an encroachment upon our territory, intended to gradually constrict ourselves.  We do not believe at this time that Hawkwood can be trusted and consider our earlier contract to no longer be in effect.  That we would receive this news only after we had withdrawn in good faith is galling.

Not this again. You know we're sandwiched between the Vau and the Symbiots, right? With the guild about to declare their absurd republic any decade? And you keep breaking contracts like children or guildsmen? Guildmen's children in fact!

I'm not breaking a contract.  Azthor has not had to follow through on anything yet.  I have however in good faith returned land and resources to him only for him to casually reveal his aggressive moves.  I bargain in good faith and he spits in my face.

And the negotiations will be simple this time.  Either Hawkwood acknowledges that the border between our sphere of influences lies between Bonnuckburn and Gwynneth or he chooses to make himself an enemy of al-Malik.

I'm not breaking a contract.
No, see, you are. A contract doesn't start when you get paid- it starts when you both "officially" agree on something (a guildsman would ask you to sign some paper, but we know a noble's word is a good as any paper, right?)

On an unrelated note, I'm curious to know which one of you is supposed to be on the Gwynneth side.

House Hawkwood notes that Bannockburn is no closer to  Istakhr than Leminkainen is to Delphi and the Bannockburn~Ishtakhr jump route at least has the heavily fortified Stigmata between them. How does Lady Regent expect to properly control planets it has no access to other than through foreign, symbiot threatened territory?

Lady Yusara's demands grow increasingly ridiculous to the point Lord Alvarex has no choice but to think he is, in fact, dealing with a madwoman.

And Leminkainen is no closer to Delphi then it is to Ishtakhr.  Both houses have equal claim to that world but we have offered a handsom price for it.

Bonnockburn however is distant to you but close to us and is not a world over which we will negotiate.  If you claim it you are making an enemy, it is that simple.

As Stigmata Commander Hosue Decados would like to throw in that Bannockburn is under constant threat from Symbiots, the same goes for Nowhere and would suggest the following Agreement:

Any House that wishes to claim Land on the Planets of Nowhere or Bannockburn have to agree to support the Stigmata Garrisons efforts to obliterate the Threat of the Symbiots by sending troops into Symbiot Space for purposes of Crusade. The Number of Troops and Ships sent into Symbiot Space to reclaim it decide upon the Number of Cities the Participant is allowed on one of the two Planets.
These Crusade Troops furthermore are banned from leaving the Stigmata Garrison and/or Symbiot Space until the Symbiot Threat has been dealt with.

A Grant of One City anywhere on the Planets of Bannockburn or Nowhere will be granted if one of the following Conditions is met:
1 Assault Lander or Freighter fully loaded with Troops* supports the Crusade against the Symbiots.
1 Frigate/Destroyer is provided.

A Grant of Two Cities anywhere on both planets is given if one of these are met:
1 Bulk Hauler/Invasion Lander fully loaded with Troops is provided
1 Vlad Cruiser/fully loaded Battle Carrier/fully loaded Space Carrier is provided

A Grant of Three Cities anywhere on both planets is give if one of these are met:
1 Cadiz Dreadnought/Raider Stealth Ship is provided

*as Crusading Troops count any units which will be approved by the Stigmata Commander, to prevent misuse

Furthermore Units of the following Offices are not allowed to go on Crusade (Stigmata,Fleet,Imperial Eye)
All troops provided to the Crusade will of course work under the Supervision of their Noble Lord.

Signed

House Decados

(Of course most of this is open to discussion, and should add something interesting to the game)

The prices laid out are high, to say the very least.
