Decados agrees to the Aylon,Malignatius and Criticorum claims, when its claims of De Moley and Cadavus are acknowledged.
That seems acceptable. However since Decados gets 2 planets (as does Al Malik) can I have Gwynneth?

I am already there, but let me have another look at the map, I will retire if it won't jeopardize my intended borders too much, or if it would jeopardize yours as much; which happens all too easily when most of my borders are with Byzantium II.
No, it's ok. If Gwynneth is taken, I can claim Shaprut instead. As long as everyone else is fine with it.

While The Hazat can stake little claim on any of the planets under consideration, it is hoped that our own claims on Vera Cruz and Sutek will be acknowledged by the assembled.

That is mighty fine be me; if it interests you, I also have no intention of claiming Pyre.

I must admit to having been interested in Sutek, but I have no problem with your claims as long as Holy Terra and Artemis are left within Hawkwood's area of influence. To that effect, I will also note that I have no interest in Madoc. What say you?

Is that right? Claiming Leminkainen and Gwenneth already gives you implicit control over Ravenna and you are even so bold as to claim influence over territory belonging to the Church? What of Pentateuch and Tethys? It would be difficult for another Royal House to contest a claim on a planet but one jump from Delphi. You reach for quite a lot Hawkwood, be careful you do not try to grasp too much.

You reach for quite a lot Hawkwood, be careful you do not try to grasp too much.

(And this is where we begin the traditional Hawkwood/Hazat rivalry)

House Hawkwood does not oppose the preservation of Holy Terra's neutrality, though it'd have the same apply to House Hazat, unconditionally. It'd also like to note that, to the effect of its border agreements, House Hawkwood is effectively boxed in between the known space's primary jump nodes (Criticorum, Aylon and Byzantium II) and, as such, must secure its final prospective borders in advance.

Houses which undermine their intended borders during negotiations are, in House Hawkwood's opinion, dealing in bad faith, in that they are intentionally signing agreements they intend to break at the earliest opportunity or, at the very least, plan to secure new planets unknown to the other Great Houses, hoping to stake their claims not through diplomacy and right, but by cunning.

((ooooh yeah, I dig it))

Forgive me if I'm not impressed by the peril of your position. Perhaps you'd have better luck convincing Houses Decados or al Malik, who not only must contend with your ambitions, but also the treachery of the Vau and the terror of the Symbiots. I can't believe they're truly satisfied with the current state of these negotiations.

Where is it that you believe your right to these planets comes from, Hawkwood? The rule of a long dead ancestor? A directive handed down from Vladimir Alecto himself? Some foolish notion of Hawkwood superiority, perhaps? Surely it's not the consent of the people. Ask some peasants who should lead them and they'll try and tell you they can rules themselves. Ha! No, the right to rule, as it always has, derives from the practical reality of military control. You will know that I am sincere when I stake a claim on Sutek, because that is where you will find my fleet.

It is you who deal in bad faith, Alvarex, when you claim half a dozen planets with nothing but words. Unless, of course, you've somehow managed to keep an entire armada hidden behind that massive ego of yours.

Rather claim to speak for them, as does House Hazat, House Hawkwood will invite House Decados and House al-Malik to pronounce themselves.

Of course the Hazat would defend their right of conquest when their lineage has only ever managed to secure three planets (Aragon, Sutek and Vera Cruz) through legitimate means. House Hawkwood has not forgotten that your fleet was present at Byzantium II the day the Emperor was assassinated.

Well if you ask like that we'd also like to stretch our Claim to Cadiz and the Vau Worlds.

Also, I'm willing to buy a map of Byzantium II featuring the Agora. Just putting it out there: cold hard firebirds for a map.
