Long story short, the launch of the 2nd edition of the Iron Kingdoms RPG has really peeked my interest in tabletop RPGs. RPGs are no fun without players though and before I try to bait my friends into playing the introductory adventure Fools Rush In I'd like to get some experience running a game so I don't fumble at the wheel. A play by post is a little more forgiving to the GM and I'm hoping with the help of the wonderful Bay12 community I'll be able to get a feel for being a GM. So without further a due I present Fools Rush In!
Fools Rush In is an introductory adventure provided free of charge by Privateer Press designed to introduce players and GMs to the 2nd edition Iron Kingdoms RPG. It contains a streamline version of the IKRPG rules to give a feel of how the full game plays and the above mentioned adventure Fools Rush In. Sadly the rules for generating characters aren't included, instead four pre-generated characters are provided for the players. They include:
Colbie Sterling Aka "The Boss Lady
Colbie's Laborjack "Doorstop"
Gardek Stonebrow aka "The Muscle"
Milo Boggs aka "The Specialist"
Eilish Garrity aka "The Sleuth"
They are all members of The Blackstone Irregulars, a mercenary group founded by Colbie who are looking to get their Charter signed by the local watch. While the local watch captain has been allowing the Blackstone Irregulars to operate without a charter in exchange for working the odd side-job, getting their charter signed would establish them as a reputable mercenary group giving them first choice on bounties and jobs. Their adventure begins in Fools Rush In with the local watch captain offering the Blackstone Irregulars just such a chance.
