Keep on practising with the mind spell. He can't however promise that the rangers wont suffer any damage. But he disagrees that that would be a bad thing. If he can learn how to damage other intelligent beings by mind magic only, even by accident, it would br worth the cost of a life.

((Also it appears you gave Efficient Conjure Stone to lemon10 instead))
Not only that, but I failed at giving Conjuration xp for it. Fixed.

((Are there cross school spells? I assume that enchanting a item to shoot flame would work with both conjuration+enchantment for example))
Yes. I haven't quite worked out the mechanics for them, since I changed my original plan for the research tree structure. I want to say a T2 elementalism/T2 enchantment spell would be roughly as powerful and expensive as casting a spell from each in succession, while slightly more difficult, but then jack-of-all-trades types would be far more powerful than specialists. We can't have that, oh no.
I think creating fire falls under elementalism better than conjuration, since it's not really matter.

((Spell research rate has been increased, but the dice still generally hate letting you research.))

Early in the season, Lady Zirae becomes aware of a plot against her growing power, by many of the other nobles in Medea's Stiletto. Some still remain neutral, unwilling to join against one of Lady Zirae's influence (let alone a wizard) without more assurances of victory. In light of this, she has her apprentices spend longer than usual on her experiments, working on a spell with more direct combat use, while she buys time.

She praises Thranduil and Sirra for especially large contributions. Sirra now sits at her right hand whenever both are together.

Thanks to exhaustive efforts, the Mind Blow spell is very nearly ready for actual use. By locking eyes on a target for a few seconds, the caster delivers a painful illusory headache. Particularly weak-willed individuals will be incapacitated by one attack, while those with a stronger will are distracted by the sudden pain. The spell is at full strength up to 20 feet away, and completely ineffective beyond 30 feet. All apprentices learn the Mind Blow spell. ((It has a slight failure chance due to not being quite done, and a minorly higher failure chance for those who don't yet have Mind 1.))

Thranduil begins creating a spell that will force an animal to consider him Alpha. MIND MAGIC now at 1.

Albrecht makes as much progress as could be hoped for, given his limited time. He now has a basic understanding about how to manipulate souls. SOUL MAGIC now at 1.

Sirra continues her improvements to the art of creating rocks.

Ardrek creates his first iteration of his view object spell. Lady Zirae appreciates what a decisive edge this could be, and will allow him to focus solely on raising his skill in divinations next season, to bring him a closer to making the spell practical. ((It will become actually useful.))

Jamgeon is pretty sure his spell will be ready by the end of next season.

Sirra swished her tail happily, walking down the hall to some errand or another. She was Lady Zirae's most favored servant now! That gave her a sense of pride, and made her want to aid and represent Lady Zirae a bit better.

Her new combat spell seemed like an ideal place to start with that. It would be nice for everyone to have an attack spell, and incapacitating with a glare seemed like a suitably imposing power for the Servants of Zirae.

Focus all efforts on refining/helping to refine Mind Blow.

"That is good...I've got a foundation upon which to build upon.
Let's try this....."

Attempt to learn how to summon an undead. (Assuming that's soul magic, right?)

I have had some serious setbacks. THis spell took way longer time to research than I anticipated. But I wouldn't  have reached the position where I am if I gave up easly. I will succed.

Keep on studying muddlesenses spell.

Continue researching View Object, hopefully getting it to a point where I can use it regularly.

((Please remember that you can only research spells up to [3.00] if the corresponding school is the same as the spell's tier, [1.00] if the spell's tier is one higher, and it caps at [5.00] if the spell's tier is at least one level lower. In case of an overflow, nothing will be lost, but you'll need to get the proper school level and research the spell again to see any benefit.
You can help Lady Zirae 's research regardless of your school knowledge, if she is focusing on that. Please include an alternative action if you want to focus on helping her research one thing.))

Lady Zirae is quite pleased with her spell's progress, and seems satisfied with its current state.

Mesor makes only marginal progress on his Tame Animal spell.

Sirra fully applies herself to assisting her leader's studies, and somehow makes half again as much progress as the rest of her colleagues combined.  Lady Zirae is impressed, given Sirra's lack of knowledge with Mind Magic. ((That was a nearly perfect series of rolls. Note that the chances of a reputation loss were higher than a gain, particularly since Sirra's leading.))

Albrecht begins working on a spell to manifest the spirit of someone who has died.

Jamgeon's spell is technically castable, but needs more work to be useful.

Ardrek learns enough about Divination to continue working on his spell next season.

The conflict in Medea's Stiletto remains low-key. None of the nobility are ready to make their move, and since the peasants are too well trained to risk starting a war, the sides have little contact with each other. The forces training for Lady Zirae are still only slightly better than standard militia. No word on the military strength of her rivals, aside from obvious misinformation.

The mana reserves have been depleted. At the current rate of consumption, research is expected to be slowed by approximately 15%.

Sirra pondered this latest development. She had a lot of results, and the research had been a success, but... she wasn't really personally skilled enough to understand them.

That needed to change, but what to work on? Ideally she wanted to stop spell research entirely and give their reserves more time to grow, but if she did that the others would just research their own things and continue to deplete it while she gained nothing. Well, nothing spellworthy. She supposed there were more ways than one to be useful...

She wondered if Lady Zirae would appreciate attempts at conserving mana...

Attempt to scout out anything I can on the enemy, erring on the side of not being seen or stabbed.

Train Perception.

There's not much spying you can do against dark elves as both an exotic race and a known enemy agent. Lady Zirae has spies, but so do the conspirators.

Remember that you could go half and half on training mundane and magic skills, but that's a bit less efficient than training both sequentially over two turns.

Ask for a ranger or two to act as guards , as I try to sneak past them with both magic and sneaking.
It will be a good opportunity to put the spell into a more practical use, while training my and sneaking ability.

Offer to personally train five rangers.
Are you sure you want to do that?

Train them to best utilise my muddle senses spell.
It's common knowledge that Lady Zirae wishes to minimize the number of people who know any magic.

(And of curse yourself in the processes.)
Please stop talking your actions to the character you directly control.
