Skyrim mod suggestions
« on: October 07, 2012, 04:46:56 pm »

So in tune with the fallout NV mod suggestions thread, I want suggestions for mods to add to my skyrim. Currently it is pretty vanilla, I plan on adding the two DLCs that came out (dawnguard and hearthfire) but given I wanna re-start the game I want more suggestions of what to add. I play heavily as a mix of mage and assasin (with a touch of archer), so mods that improve those areas are welcome. Same goes for giant-mega-mods-of-doom that improve all things.  :D

If there is a skyrim mods thread out there, I didn't find it. sorry.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Lol @ DRM.  Those are "DLC" DownLoadable Content.

Lemme crack open my mod manager...  Realistic Ragdools, Unlimited Bookshelves, "get rid of the god damn clouds from the map", auto unequip arrows, arrowsmithing, dragon souls to perks (costs 2 souls for every 10 levels of perk - ie, if perk requires skill level 50, then I need 10 souls, this is tricky on Master), female mannequins that don't look like real people, that's creepy, mannequins are wooden, and finally I've installed Warzones but not played much with it.

I'm not running any DLC, just the flat instal.

Oh yeah, and nudity mods, but who isn't using those?

I have over 70 mods running concurrently in a stable (vanilla-level) state.  Here are a few of them that are noteworthy.  Some of them require Dawnguard.  All are on Steam Workshop.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Most of these aren't necessarily directly related to the experience you are looking for; mostly for enhanced RP, although if you only get one of these I would suggest the crime overhaul because guards will actually do something about you sneaking around in towns.

Probably no reason other than it giving them a larger B-peen.

I've got about 90-105 mods running without dawnguard content mods... I'm getting dawnguard as soon as my moneycard clears to buy stuff so I go get the dawnguard mods.

Which wearable lantern mod? The one with the bug jar lamp or the one that tried to change all the existing lanterns into pick up and use one?
Cause I'd recommend the bug jar one anyday.
Unlimited bookshelves take forever to put things on the self for me...
The darker (scary version i think) Darker dungeons felt nice, but I was left wandering around in the dark trying to find levers for hours each time I got to a roadblock.

I went through about half the mods on steam and nexus to pick those, most are lore friendly or neutral, at least a half-dozen are just retextures or lighting fixes, I've gotten to the point where I'm picking out gameplay changers, by the time I get done sorting out all the mods I'll take with dawnguard... I'll probably have picked up an additional around 20-50 mods. I doubt there is a mod worth downloading (even for the lols) that I havent seen or is not going to be considered grabbing.

The huge ones. Yes, of course.

I use Midas Magic, Overlook Tower, and Cat Mount. SkyUI and SKSE are a bit of a must.

Did you know that if you write 3.14 on a piece of paper and hold it in a mirror, it will say pie? And if you divide 42 by 3.14... you get 13.37!
