What about 'cromulent'? I have no idea what it means.

It's analogous to "acceptable."

Simpsons made it up.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Did you just compare Shakespeare to The Simpsons?

They honestly aren't all that different. Shakespeare's comedies are all sex jokes and absurdity, they just don't look much like that to a modern observer. Even some of his tragedies are satirical, like Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet.

"Cromulent" is a word invented for a joke about inventing words, though, making it a bit different.

Actually, I think "thru" might be the single worst word in existence. I'm fine with almost every other streamlining of words because come on, our language is pretty stupid sometimes, but something about thru really bothers me.

"Lithe" still kindof annoys me after my years spent playing various roleplay MUDs. :P Why... Why must everyone use it argh.
Because elf orgies.

Feedback is another word I like - it has the first 6 letters of the alphabet in it :D

I learned how to put accents on letters without using insert-symbol! :)

It doesn't work in the Bay12 forum box, only my Skype and Word :(

It also works for umlaut and circumflex, IIRC
