It's analogous to "acceptable."

Simpsons made it up.

HERESY! It was Blackadder.
False! That's an urban myth.

No cromulent. Lots of other made up words, though.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I was thinking on this earlier, and some words that irritate me (not for their sound, but for their uncertain use) are those gender-specific nouns(?) that can imply age, such as 'guy', 'boy', 'man', 'woman', 'girl', 'lady'... They all overlap, and it's near impossible to work out just which is best used to describe a person. :(

We really do need some better genderless pronouns. "They," "them," etc don't really cut it for everything.

I often end up using 'person' and 'they' out of laziness. :P

Personally I like the gender-neutral they/them, if only because we don't have anything better. And 'xe', etc. don't exactly roll off the tongue.

Hey, there's a word I hate: tongue. I always spell it wrong the first time, no matter how much I know that the 'u' comes after the 'g' rather than before the 'n'.
