I also post. Intermittently. With off-topic nonsense...

And I like this newcomer. He's amusing.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

[Good morning children! And you thought Limulid would lie forgotten didn't you! Well it's back! Updates will be sporadic, mostly because of my binging on Fallout 3 and Fallout Equestria mod. But we're back with a  vengeance! Not really. The updates will try to stay to a monthly to seasonal basis and most likely barring something significant  may only be piddling conversations and reporting mundane bullshit like the below update.]

“Anvil, will you just-” Anvil raised a hand to the protesting 'doctor.' “'Fraid I don't need ya babying me Squid. I just needed a couple days' bed-rest, don't ya go worrin' about me.” She said, opening the door. “Well then will you at least wash your hand before it starts to fester?” Squid pleaded. She'd much prefer the bullheaded armorer just let her close up the still slightly torn skin and meat.“Find some soap an' I will.” As she stepped out, a light rain came down and Squid set to work on Slade's leg, though after a cleaning he excused himself when Squid went to get lunch. [They'll both probably die from an infection since they're refusing medical treatment. Their respective appendages were still torn open.] Clean-up was being undertaken and the lack of any sightings of bugbears and angry wildlife protesting said bugbears, the militia stood down. Not long after, one of the spike beetles keeled over, Targe pegging old age, since it hadn't been injured on any of the traps. Their herd also began to grow to plentiful sizes, the  bulls that showed the least potential being put down in order to encourage yeilds of better and more numerous product for them to enjoy. More sugar beetles hatched and the nymphs were seen scurrying about the offices. The Silveni Hobgoblins left sometime in mid-Granite and once more promised to attempt to get dwarves to come, now that they had ample food and room to accommodate a few more dwarves, maybe even three for four more families. The ant pit was also marked out, to be dug in a strangely treeless patch that the dwarves hadn't touched in years, save Feral when he first felled the highwoods that were there back in year five. This was found when Usi dug the first portion to be because it went right into solid bedrock, and no other trees had since been able to take root. It mattered little to the dwarves though. The invaders were stripped of their arms and armor (under the threat of Anvil using their heads to pound out helmets on instead of an actual anvil) and once the first brood or two of the ants hatched, they would pay for their trespasses.

[So there we are. A piddling piss poor update to let you know I'm alive. Granite passed largely without anything of importance cropping up, aside from a spike beetle keeling over and more nom beetles being hatched. Clean up's going well, ice has melted, and the greenskins left.]

Things were quiet in Limulid. Pleasingly so.  They had food and drink a plenty, spare beds if they needed them, spare clothes and such. Life was good in fact, even if they had little free time in light of the clean-up and work needing to be done around the stockade. Slade said he saw a troll when he want to look into the caverns (“And it can stay there. Let the fish men deal with it.” was the general consensus regarding that,) and an age old foe had returned, the giant flying squirrels. Everyone was leery of them, and hoped they'd be the next victims of the logwalk's traps. Which, sure enough, they did. Two were torn to shreds on the various salvaged weapons, and Mantis promptly butchered them. Squid was becoming a remarkably quick tanner, and once the hobgoblins had finally taken their leave proper, work sped up significantly because they weren't tripping over the hobgoblins' animals and feet. They also freed two sparrow folk who'd been languishing in cages they had accidentally wandered into, who had been subsisting off scraps given to them by Targe and Squid. They seemed to nod in thanks before they flew off over the hill. Not long after, several cave crab hatchlings were born, expanding their mass of angry war beasts. And of course, as spring crept along, no sign of migrants. It was getting to be a major hurdle. So much had to be done, so much needed to be stored, and they hadn't the time or hands to get it all done. A giant grasshopper also found itself snared in a trap as slate wound to a close. As Felsite rolled along, the yearly Salmon migration was seen heading upriver and Anvil set to work on them in the gaps between cleaning up skeletons and gear, not that they needed the food. The Ant den was also half finished, though it'd need some touching up before the first brood and the queen could be moved in to begin the disposal of prisoners.

[Ok folks, sorry about that. We're now in late spring of the year 10, and Open Office was rather uncooperative and I couldn't even finish the above in it and just typed the last sentence and a half here on the forum. There'd be more meat to the update, but no attacks coupled with literally just clean up to be done at this point in preparation for spending most of summer cleaning up the inevitable ambushes from this season's trade time is all to be done until some dorfs finally decide to fucking show up.]

Sometimes a quiet season to get stuff done is better.

Yeah but there's not alot to write about and I don't like doing piddling updates like this. I mean it gets the job done but still.
