DF makes pretty nice worlds.

So I've been working on a couple composite-things using my 8x8 tileset, but they aren't done at all so instead, I made this cool gif!



That's only 200 years out of 1050, though...

You all do know that we everytime we gen a world in DF, a new universe is created somewhere, and everytime we delete a save we kill a whole world?

It's fun seeing all those settlements pop up on the coasts and the rivers. Little islands of activity...

I'm only so so at map reading.  What's the mu symbol that the Goblin fortress crumbles into?  What does it represent?  Ruins?

There's a free gif-animator called UnFREEZ. It works really well. Getting the screenshots, I just used Legends Mode and GIMP (for the gif frames).

On topic of map and gens, why my medium maps CTD after 163 years, no matter the prams?  Itll gen a 500yr world, but then CTD during finalization.

There's a free gif-animator called UnFREEZ. It works really well. Getting the screenshots, I just used Legends Mode and GIMP (for the gif frames).

If you don't know, GIMP can create animated gifs on its own, using the layers of the image as the frames.

I might totally just make one of a fort. It'd be a one-z-level fort. Or I'll make a .gif of every layer I'm on. Because I like my traps and labyrinths. I'd take caps every season so you can see the exponential explosion when the migrants decide to roll around.
