Would gremlins be full blown citizens or pets like they usually are?

Full blown citizens. We're doing everything but the kitchen sink here.

Ohmygod. Moogles? <3

Name: Darupopo
Profession: Mechanic/Gemsetter/Gemcutter/Siege Operator in that order.
Gender: Male
Race: Moogle
Extra Info: Darupopo is terrified of insects of any kind, and adores jewels. He became lost after fleeing from a swarm of presumably ravening butterflies, and (eventually) stumbled across the fortress, where he took a liking for a (particularly tall) citizen. He is trying to woo that citizen with trinkets and shinies, and protect them with his engineering/trapmaking skills, a childhood hobby turned to war.

He thinks murlocs and fairies are adorable.

Right, I'll start the fortress soon, I can't guarantee it too soon, my timetable isn't exactly free.

Must get in on the minotaur goodness.

Name: Delioth IV
Profession: Greataxe user with a shield. (Their size is big enough to do it.)
Gender: Male
Race: Minotaur
Extra Info:Delioth IV is epic, and bisects people as much as possible. Also, throwing things around. He adores gemstones and rutile.

I'll probably shut down this thread and start in a new thread, before I do, any more suggestions for skills, races, etc?

Have you considered something like orcs?

Considered, put on the maybe list, because they're essentially tall goblins
I'll put them in if enough people want them.

Maybe plump helmet men? Either way, it's still a pretty solid list!

How about goblins are small and fast, and good at archery, but orcs are big, tough and occasionally go into a rage that makes them stronger but CRAZED?

Wait, it's possible to mod in a multirace fortress?

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Yes, kinda. You can go the actual mod route and combine creature raws together, which is really fucking difficult but I've successfully done it 2-3 times now, or you can use DFhack's friendship and migrants commands.

I do have a hell of an inventory of new races and a mod that makes everything just a bit more terrifying, but I don't have any working version of those uploaded right now. Some of the time they can be scary-hard, though.

Aaah, so it's clever caste modding, then?

No, he said he's using the DFhack route. If you want to combine a list of species THAT long, you've got a deathwish, and a serious psychological problem. Just mixin' and bugfixin' 5 at a time is a 6-12 hour trek.

I did that for one of the mods I was implying. The brutemen, a combined force of semi-megabeasts, as well as trolls and ogres. Pretty goddamn terrifying, and I've almost got that mod in a working state again. I'm just lazy as fuck about updating for new versions anymore...
